On-site / Field Role Overview The General Manager Trainee is a fast-track operational leadership role designed to transition an ambitious professional into full general management. Working alongside the General Manager and Installation Manager, you will co-own day-to-day operations, field logistics, customer relationships, and job completion. This hands-on position blends warehouse management, CRM scheduling, technical field estimation, and client-facing problem solving. Key Responsibilities Operations & Team Leadership Lead daily scheduling meetings with the Installation Manager to align field teams and project priorities. Review daily job queues with crews, offering technical insight, troubleshooting, and direct support to eliminate bottlenecks. Maintain complete CRM scheduling accuracy, job status tracking, and schedule updates. Supervise warehouse staging to ensure materials are organized, labeled, and accessible for daily load-outs. Coordinate with the Office Manager to procure parts, schedule service calls, and promptly close out and invoice completed jobs. Proactively manage project disruptions by contacting affected clients and immediately rescheduling missed visits. Customer Liaison & Field Technical Training Shadow the General Manager on client and builder consultations to master project estimating, field measuring, and take-off processes. Master the technical layout, measurement, and installation standards for all primary screen systems and awnings. Serve as an on-site customer liaison and proactive troubleshooter to resolve issues and drive projects across the finish line. Co-own end-to-end project execution alongside the Installation Manager to protect margin, quality, and delivery timelines. Qualifications 3+ years of experience in field operations, construction management, trade services, or operational leadership. Proficiency with CRM systems, digital scheduling platforms, and inventory tracking. Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to read plans, perform field takeoffs, and learn specialty product lines (screens, awnings, enclosures). Demonstrated customer service skills with high responsiveness to builders and homeowners. Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Compensation & Benefits Base Salary:
$70,000 - $90,000 annually (commensurate with experience)
Semi-Annual Performance Bonus Transportation:
Company vehicle or monthly auto allowance provided
Expenses:
Company provided mobile phone and credit card covering 100% of verified business expenses
Pay:
$70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
