Job Description

Position Overview Mavillino Custom Homes is a premier custom home builder serving the Northwest Ohio area. At Mavillino, we don't just build houses — we create dream homes. Our process emphasizes full customization, whether starting from one of our classic or fully custom floorplans, or designing something completely unique. We are known for our "Mavillino Difference" — a commitment to building every home as if it were our own. The Superintendent serves as the senior field leader for our custom home building operations in northwest Ohio. Reporting directly to the Project Manager/Director of Operations, this role is accountable for the successful on-site execution of 10-12 custom homes per year. The Superintendent provides strategic field direction, directly supervises the two Field Supervisors, and maintains overall responsibility for schedule adherence, quality outcomes, safety performance, and subcontractor coordination across active projects. This is a highly visible leadership position that ensures every home meets our company's reputation for superior craftsmanship and client satisfaction. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Management Directly supervise, mentor, and evaluate the two Field Supervisors Conduct regular one-on-one meetings and performance reviews with Field Supervisors Foster a culture of accountability, quality, and continuous improvement on all jobsites Scheduling & Project Execution Develop, maintain, and update the master construction schedule for active projects Own subcontractor scheduling and coordination across active projects Anticipate and resolve scheduling conflicts before they impact timelines Adjust field resources and trade sequencing as needed in coordination with the Project Manager Quality Control & Standards Establish and enforce company quality standards on every project Perform comprehensive weekly quality walkthroughs on all homes under construction Identify recurring quality issues and implement corrective action plans Safety & Compliance Champion company safety policies and maintain full OSHA compliance Conduct monthly safety audits and weekly toolbox talks Ensure all jobsites meet or exceed local, state, and federal regulations Reporting & Communication Provide detailed weekly progress reports, photos, and forecasts to the Project Manager Serve as the primary point of contact for all trade partners and vendors Escalate major issues, delays, or client concerns to the Project Manager promptly Qualifications 6+ years of progressive residential construction experience, including at least 3 years in a superintendent or senior field leadership role Proven track record managing multiple jobsites simultaneously - new construction / custom homes preferred Strong leadership, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills Deep knowledge of custom home construction sequencing, high-end finishes, and northwest Ohio building practices Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and specifications Valid Ohio driver's license with clean driving record Proficiency with construction management software (Buildertrend, Procore, or similar) Physical & Work Requirements Ability to walk active construction sites daily in all weather conditions Must be able to climb ladders, inspect attics and crawl spaces, and navigate uneven terrain
Compensation and Benefits Base Salary:
based on experience, between $80,000 - $110,000 Bonus programs: both merit-based and project profit-based Paid vacation and holidays Health insurance
