Job Description
Project Coordinator - Data Center Construction Sandusky, OH $40-$50 per hour | Day Shift | Long-Term Assignment PrideStaff is recruiting a Field Project Coordinator for a major high-tech construction project in Sandusky, Ohio. Our client internally refers to this position as a Field Engineer, but this is not a traditional engineering role and is not a skilled-trades position. This role is ideal for someone with experience in a large commercial, industrial, data center, telecom, safety, or other highly structured construction environment who enjoys working between the project office and the field. You will work closely with the Project Manager to help communicate information, inspect and document work, follow up on project needs, and keep field activity organized and moving. Responsibilities Serve as a communication link between the Project Manager and field personnel. Travel throughout a large project site to obtain updates, deliver information, and follow up on open items. Perform field observations and inspections to verify work completion. Document field conditions, completed work, deficiencies, and outstanding items. Communicate findings and project updates back to the Project Manager. Assist with day-to-day project coordination and administrative activities. Maintain organized project records, correspondence, and documentation. Follow up with contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel. Use project-management and construction software to enter and retrieve information. Support jobsite safety, security, and access-control requirements. Assist with additional project coordination needs as required. Ideal Background We are especially interested in candidates with experience in one or more of the following: Data center or mission-critical construction Telecom or communications construction Low-voltage or structured-cabling environments Construction safety or safety coordination Large commercial or industrial construction Field project coordination Construction administration QA/QC or inspection support Qualifications Experience working in a large commercial, industrial, infrastructure, or high-tech construction environment preferred. Strong safety awareness and understanding of professional jobsite practices. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Comfortable working independently throughout a large construction site. Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office. Ability to quickly learn new construction-management software. Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, or similar software is a plus. Professional demeanor and ability to communicate effectively with project managers, contractors, vendors, and field personnel. Ability to manage multiple priorities and consistently follow through on assignments. Must be able to meet all project security and site-access requirements. Important Position Fit This position is best suited for someone who likes being involved in construction projects without performing skilled trade work. A typical day may include time in the project trailer assisting the Project Manager, followed by time in the field checking work status, documenting conditions, communicating with contractors or field personnel, and reporting back to the project team. This is not a Project Manager position, traditional engineering position, or skilled-trades role. Candidates looking for significant engineering responsibilities or immediate advancement into project management may not find this position to be the right fit.
