About the role:
The OBR Field Superintendent oversees cooling tower construction and repairs, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, on time, and to quality standards. Extensive travel is required depending on project location. Roles/Tasks of the
Position:
Supervising field crews and maintaining customer satisfaction Delivering projects within contract, budget, and schedule Enforcing safety standards and demonstrating strong leadership Collaborating with engineering, project management, purchasing, and construction teams to meet client expectations. Ensure safe work practices; stop work if unsafe conditions exist Interface with clients and represent OBR on all project aspects Supervise, mentor, and train field technicians, Foremen, Leadmen, and crews Conduct safety orientations and enforce OBR/industry standards Manage materials, equipment rentals, and suppliers Oversee erection process and subcontractor progress Prepare daily reports, time reports, and final close-out documentation Develop and manage budgets, schedules, and work plans Inspect work to ensure quality, compliance, and adherence to drawings/specifications Coordinate pre-construction meetings and collaborate with supervisory, engineering, and project teams to resolve issues Contribute to bid strategies, project planning, and problem-solving Manage large crew resource pools across projects of varying size and complexity Travel to job sites as required Perform other duties as assigned
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent 10+ years in field cooling tower construction with a minimum of 4 years as a foreman in cooling tower construction. Construction management experience preferred.
Working Environment and Physical Demands:
Employees must be able to perform the essential functions of this role, with reasonable accommodation provided as needed.
Requirements include:
Outdoor or plant settings with exposure to weather, heat, noise, and nearby hazardous chemicals Lift up to 50 lbs., bend, climb, and stoop as needed. Stand, walk, sit, crawl, squat, kneel, and reach (outward/above shoulders). Perform keyboarding/typing and reading from screens or paper. Manage high workloads and multi-task in a fast-paced setting. Communicate effectively verbally.
PREREQUISITES/REQUIREMENTS
Negative 10-panel urinalysis and breath alcohol test. Valid Driver's License and proof of U.S. Citizenship. Score of 2 or less in Disa. As an OBR Cooling Towers team member, you will enjoy:
