Job Description
Preconstruction Manager - Commercial Construction A leading commercial contractor is seeking an experienced Preconstruction Manager to lead estimating and preconstruction efforts across a diverse portfolio of commercial projects. This is a high-impact role with direct involvement in budgeting, client interaction, and project strategy from concept through start of construction. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with strong estimating experience who can lead preconstruction processes, develop accurate budgets, and collaborate with internal teams and clients to ensure successful project execution. Key Responsibilities
- Lead preconstruction efforts from concept through project start
- Develop conceptual budgets, detailed estimates, and cost analyses
- Manage bid process, including subcontractor outreach and leveling
- Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving strategies
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Superintendents, and leadership
- Interface with clients, architects, and engineers during preconstruction
- Review plans, specifications, and constructability considerations
- Support project handoff to operations team Qualifications
- 7-15+ years of experience in commercial construction estimating/preconstruction
- Strong background in ground-up commercial projects
- Proven ability to manage full preconstruction lifecycle
- Experience leading bids and interacting with clients
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and pricing
- Proficiency in estimating software (Bluebeam, OST, PlanSwift, etc.)
- Stable work history with reputable contractors
- Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills
Compensation and Benefits Salary Range:
$110,000 - $150,000 per year (based on experience)- Competitive compensation + bonus potential
