Position Purpose
Klamath Falls City Schools is seeking a highly organized, proactive, and solutions-oriented individual to serve as a Secondary Building Manager - School Operations & Systems at Mills Elementary School.
The Building Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the school operates efficiently, consistently, and safely each day so that principals and assistant principals can prioritize instructional leadership, classroom support, and student learning.
This position includes operational leadership and supervisory responsibilities related to school operational systems and support staff. The Building Manager is responsible for coordinating and managing many of the daily systems that directly impact school functioning, including office operations, custodial coordination, facilities communication, classroom readiness systems, supply coordination, supervision systems, and student support logistics.
The Building Manager serves as a key operational partner to the principal and helps create a structured, student-centered environment where high-quality instruction can occur consistently every day.
Position Classification & Compensation
210-day salaried position
Member of the Supervisory/Manager bargaining group
Reports directly to the building principal, works closely with the maintenance supervisor, IT, transportation supervisor, and food services supervisor
Annual salary: $42,534.00
Eligible for district benefit package in accordance with bargaining agreement provisions
Qualifications
Associate degree or equivalent experience preferred
Experience in school operations, office management, supervision, logistics, or organizational coordination preferred
Experience coordinating systems, projects, or support staff preferred
Strong organizational and systems-management skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to problem-solve proactively and independently
Ability to work collaboratively with administrators, teachers, classified staff, students, families, and district departments
Strong technology and data management skills preferred
Must meet all district employment requirements
Performance Responsibilities
School Operations & Systems Coordination
Coordinate daily operational systems that support efficient school functioning
Support implementation of structured schoolwide routines and supervision systems
Ensure operational issues are addressed quickly to minimize disruptions to instruction
Assist with organization and coordination of arrival, dismissal, hallway, lunch, and transition systems
Coordinate systems that maximize instructional time and student engagement
Support the principal in ensuring schoolwide systems are implemented consistently
Use independent judgment to anticipate operational needs and resolve routine school operations issues
Custodial, Office, and Operational Staff Supervision
Coordinate and assign operational support duties as directed by the principal
Monitor and support the daily work of custodial staff to ensure the building is clean, safe, and ready for students and staff
Monitor and support office staff workflows to ensure efficient school operations and responsive service to families and staff
Assist in coordinating schedules, duties, and daily operational assignments for office and custodial staff
Assist in training and onboarding operational support staff
Participate in monitoring performance and providing performance feedback to operational support staff
Assist the principal in addressing operational staff concerns and performance issues
Help ensure operational staff comply with district procedures, safety expectations, and school routines
Provide feedback to the principal regarding operational staff performance, system needs, and areas for improvement
Support the principal in maintaining clear expectations, accountability, and follow-through for operational staff
Classroom Readiness & Instructional Support
Oversee systems that ensure classrooms are prepared and supplied daily
Coordinate classroom preparation support staff and instructional material systems
Ensure instructional materials, supplies, and operational supports are organized and available
Support systems that allow teachers to focus on instructional planning and delivery rather than operational preparation
Monitor readiness of classrooms and shared instructional spaces
Student Support Coordination
Coordinate student support logistics and systems alongside administrators and Student Success Specialists
Support implementation of student behavior response systems
Assist with supervision and coordination of student support spaces and intervention areas
Support systems that ensure students remain connected to instruction during behavioral interventions
Help maintain orderly student movement and supervision systems throughout the school day
Facilities & Organizational Coordination
Serve as liaison with district operations, maintenance, transportation, nutrition services, technology, and custodial departments
Monitor facility-related concerns and coordinate timely resolution
Communicate custodial, maintenance, safety, and operational needs to appropriate district departments
Assist with organization of school events, logistics, and operational planning
Help maintain safe, clean, organized, and welcoming school environments
Coordinate supply ordering, inventory systems, and building-use logistics
Staff Support & Professionalism
Provide responsive support to staff operational needs throughout the school day
Support positive workplace culture and collaborative problem-solving
Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions
Communicate clearly and proactively with administrators, staff, families, and district departments
Participate in meetings, trainings, and professional learning as required
Perform other duties as assigned by the principal or district administration

Work Environment
This position requires frequent movement throughout the school campus, coordination of multiple activities simultaneously, and active engagement with students, staff, families, and district departments throughout the school day.
The position may require lifting, carrying, organizing materials, responding to urgent operational needs, and supporting schoolwide supervision systems.
