Job Description
We are looking for a Deconstruction Estimator & Project Manager to join our team of deconstruction specialists! This position is full-time and is based out of our office & salvage yard in NW Portland. Please read this ad thoroughly and note that we require a resume with a cover letter. The Deconstruction Estimator & Project Manager is responsible for scoping and estimating deconstruction projects, creating estimates, and supporting field crews and clients through job completion. This role requires a unique combination of analytical precision, industry knowledge, and exceptional people skills. We're looking for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and genuinely enjoys building strong, long-term relationships with everyone involved — from homeowners and contractors to vendors and crew. You'll be the key link between clients and our team, ensuring that projects are clearly scoped, accurately estimated, and professionally executed. Your ability to inspire confidence, communicate clearly, and maintain a strong presence throughout a job's life cycle is essential to your success in this role.Responsibilities & Duties:
Receive and vet project requests by gathering detailed scope information through phone calls, emails, walkthroughs, and document review. Attend walkthroughs and consultations to build genuine, trusting relationships with homeowners, general contractors, and trade partners. Craft accurate, detailed estimates in Microsoft Excel, using internal estimating systems and templates, typically within 2-3 business days. Oversee and track all job-related services such as: facilitate debris box ordering, create & organize WAFs, obtain GWRs, order & track porta potties, reserve rental tools, etc for the PM team. Participate in team meetings and attend job starts to support field crews and clarify project expectations, ensuring a smooth handoff to Crew Leads. Serve as the main administrative point of contact for each job, communicating updates, monitoring timelines, addressing scope changes, staying actively engaged on Slack throughout the workday to ensure smooth coordination and responsiveness, and generating invoices upon project completion. Deliver tools or materials to job sites as needed, maintaining your visibility and connection with field crews. Represent Lovett Deconstruction's values and mission in every interaction — from first contact to job completion — strengthening the company's reputation and client relationships. Provide constructive feedback to Leads and Crew during project and post-mortum. Create an "Active Project" tab weekly for the PM team to ensure team members are aware and up-to-date on all projects, scope and details. Collect, review, store, and distribute lead RRP paperwork. Send regularly scheduled Safety Meetings on relevant topics, review and store feedbackExperience, Skills & Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in residential construction or deconstruction project estimating, supervision, or related roles. Business savvy, with strong business acumen and the ability to balance project profitability with exceptional customer service. Proven ability to build rapport and foster long-term relationships with a wide range of personalities, including clients, contractors, vendors, and crew. Confident communication skills, including public speaking, phone calls, written correspondence, and in-person interactions. Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong time management and follow-through. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Google Workspace Comfortable navigating fast-paced, dynamic environments with high emotional intelligence and professionalism. Deep commitment to sustainability, craftsmanship, and the values of reuse and community impact. Ability to inspire confidence and positively represent the company in public and client-facing settings.Reports to:
This position reports directly to the Deconstruction Operations Manager and interacts directly with other Project Managers, Leads, Crew and office staff on a daily basis. No direct reports.Hours:
Monday through Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm, 40 hours per week.Compensation:
Salaried full time. We evaluate our compensation offerings according to market medians and internal pay equity. The starting salary $72,000 per year with salary potential increasing DOE.Job Type:
