OVERVIEW
APPLICATION Share this job Description CDR Maguire Inc., a national multi-disciplinary engineering firm, has an immediate hiring need for a Transportation Construction Manager. The Transportation Construction Manager (TCM) is responsible for overseeing construction inspection staff, consulting with contractors, consultants, engineers, job superintendents, and others in matters related to plans, specifications, materials, equipment, and the methods, practices and safety precautions involved in construction and installation of the work. The TCM oversees preparation of daily progress reports and maintains progress schedules; checks contractors' quotations for variations; keeps records of quantities and cost of materials used; prepares contractors' periodic progress payment claims and recommend payment. Local candidates preferred. Sponsorship is not available for this position.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Ensure compliance with the contract documents by the contractor.
- Ensure compliance with the contractor's health and safety plan.
- Check that delivered materials conform to the contract documents.
- Check contractor's layout and verify accuracy.
- Prepare and submit daily reports of work performed in accordance with CDR Maguire's and Owner's requirements.
- Review/Route Submittals and RFIs (electronically).
- Keep records of quantities completed for contractor payment.
- Process Change Orders.
- Effective oral and written communication.
- Follow and convey instructions.
- Utilize computers and common office equipment.
- Ability to bend, stretch, kneel, sit, and stand.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 10 lbs.
- Wear required personal protective gear/equipment.
- React to hazardous warnings and signals.
- Infrequently perform manual labor.
- Infrequently work in adverse weather conditions.
- Limited exposure to chemicals.
OTHER PRINCIPAL DUTIES
- Provide a positive attitude to establish competence and pride in the company.
- Oversee inspection staff and provide direction and mentoring as required to less experienced staff.
- Other duties which may be required, which are commensurate with the position.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED
- High school diploma, GED, or post-secondary education and can read, write, and clearly communicate in English and perform basic math computations associated with Heavy Highway construction projects.
- 10+ Years of Construction Management/Inspection experience.
Required:
- NICET Level IV in Transportation/Highway Construction or PE License in Pennsylvania
- NECEPT Bituminous field technician certification
- ACI/PennDOT Asphalt Certification
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products & Adobe or BlueBeam
- PennDOT Concrete Certification
