Construction Project ManagerWe are a trusted general contractor specializing in retail and commercial construction for national brands across North America. Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to lead ground-up and renovation projects from pre-construction through closeout. The role focuses on delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards by coordinating cross-functional teams, managing subcontractors, and maintaining strong client relationships.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead planning and execution of construction projects (ground-up and renovations) including scheduling, budgeting, procurement, and quality control.
Develop, maintain, and communicate comprehensive project schedules and cost forecasts; proactively identify and mitigate risks to schedule and budget.
Manage selection, coordination, and performance of subcontractors and vendors; negotiate contracts and change orders.
Oversee on-site construction activities to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, building codes, and safety regulations; conduct regular site inspections and enforce safety protocols.
Serve as primary point of contact for clients, architects, engineers, and regulatory agencies; provide regular project updates and coordinate project meetings.
Prepare and review project documentation including RFIs, submittals, daily reports, progress reports, and closeout documentation.
Track project costs, approve invoices, and work with accounting to ensure accurate billing and cash flow management.
Implement quality assurance and quality control procedures; resolve construction issues and claims in a timely manner.
Mentor and supervise project staff, including assistant project managers and field personnel, fostering a collaborative and accountable team environment.
QualificationsBachelors degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred; equivalent experience accepted.
Minimum of (5) years' experience in a construction related fieldProven experience as a Project Manager in construction with strong knowledge of scheduling (MS Project, Primavera or similar), budgeting, and cost control.
Familiarity with construction methods, building codes, permits, and safety regulations (OSHA standards).Strong contract administration skills, including experience preparing and negotiating subcontract agreements and change orders.
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder-management skills; ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and maintain client relationships.
Proficiency with construction management software (Procore, Buildertrend, BIM tools) and Microsoft Office suite.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
PMP or CCM certification and OSHA 30-hour card are a plus.
