Job Description

Field Superintendent - Construction (State College) Position Summary Inch&Co. Construction is a growing company with a diverse pipeline across construction, land development, and property management. Our team is focused on building efficiently, solving problems, and delivering quality projects. We're looking for a hands-on, accountable Field Superintendent to lead day-to-day operations on our construction sites. This role is responsible for managing subcontractors, maintaining schedules, ensuring quality, and driving projects safely to completion. The ideal candidate will be someone who takes ownership in the field, communicates clearly, and keeps projects moving without constant oversight. Key Responsibilities Oversee all on-site construction activities from mobilization through turnover, buildings, sitework, utilities, etc. Manage, schedule and coordinate subcontractors to ensure work is completed safely, on time, and per plans/specs. Maintain and drive the project schedule in coordination with the Project Manager. Conduct daily site walks to monitor progress, quality, and safety. Identify and proactively resolve issues before they impact schedule or budget. Ensure all work meets company quality standards and project requirements. Coordinate inspections and ensure readiness for key milestones. Maintain clean, organized, and professional job sites. Produce, update, and distribute a 3-wk schedule. Communicate daily updates, progress, and issues to the Project Manager. Enforce jobsite safety requirements and company policies. Assist in project closeout, punch list completion, and turnover. Experiences Preferred Proven experience as a Superintendent in multi-family and commercial construction. Experience working on projects with multiple buildings or phased turnover. Strong ability to manage multiple trades and keep projects on track. Solid understanding of construction sequencing, plans, and specifications. Ability to read drawings and identify conflicts or issues early.
Strong communication skills:
direct, clear, and solution-oriented. High level of accountability and ownership in the field. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple moving parts. OSHA knowledge and commitment to jobsite safety. General familiarity with Bluebeam software, Microsoft Office, etc. Experience managing projects from sitework through full building turnover Familiarity with local municipalities, inspection processes, and C of O processes. Ability to assist in short-term lookahead scheduling and sequencing planning. Experience working closely with Project Managers and understanding division of responsibilities. Experience coordinating with utility companies and handling site logistics. Strong understanding of quality control processes and punch list management. Experience on projects with tight schedules and high turnover demands. Basic understanding of budgeting impacts (how field decisions affect cost).
