The Scheduling Manager will be responsible for creating and maintaining baseline and updated schedules, coordinating with project teams and subcontractors, ensuring schedule integration with cost and controls systems, and delivering timely schedule reports and forecasts. The role requires strong expertise in Schedule Development, Microsoft Project, Schedule Updating, Project Controls, and Construction. Key Responsibilities Develop, maintain and control project schedules from planning through closeout using Microsoft Project as the primary tool. Create and manage baseline schedules and deliver regular schedule updates, progress forecasts and recovery plans. Coordinate schedule activities with project managers, engineering, procurement, construction leads and subcontractors to ensure alignment with project objectives. Maintain and enforce schedule control procedures, including change management, baseline management and documentation of schedule narratives. Integrate schedule data with project controls and cost systems to support cost-schedule analysis and earned value reporting. Produce look-ahead schedules, short-interval planning and 26 week rolling forecasts to support field execution and workface planning. Perform schedule analysis to identify critical path, float, and resource constraints; recommend and implement schedule compression techniques (crashing, fast-tracking) when required. Develop resource histograms, resource leveling plans and coordinate resource allocation with project teams. Prepare clear, actionable schedule reports, dashboards and presentations for stakeholders and executive leadership. Support claims and forensics when required by providing time-impact analyses, delay analysis and schedule documentation. Conduct schedule audits and quality reviews to ensure schedule integrity, accuracy and compliance with contractual requirements. Mentor and supervise scheduling staff, establish standards and best practices, and drive continuous improvement of scheduling processes. Qualifications Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Planning or related discipline, or equivalent experience. 7+ years of scheduling experience on large, complex construction projects with progressive responsibility; 3+ years in a lead or manager role preferred. Demonstrated expertise in Schedule Development and Schedule Updating for construction programs. Proven proficiency in Microsoft Project (required) for developing, updating and reporting schedules. Strong knowledge of Project Controls principles and practices, including baseline management and change control. Practical construction experience and understanding of construction sequencing, procurement impacts and field execution challenges. Skilled in critical path analysis (CPM) and interpreting schedule metrics to support decision making. Excellent stakeholder coordination, communication and leadership skills with experience managing multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors. Ability to prepare clear schedule narratives, dashboards and executive-level reports. Experience integrating schedules with cost systems and earned value reporting (EVM) is highly desirable.
