Lead the Team That Wins the Work Access Communications Group (ACG) is seeking an experienced Estimating Manager to lead our Estimating Department and drive the success of multimillion-dollar telecommunications, utility, construction, infrastructure, low-voltage, and technology projects. This is not simply a management position. This is a leadership role for someone who can build high-performing teams, establish estimating excellence, improve processes, and help shape the future growth of the company. As the head of the Estimating Department, you will oversee bid strategy, team development, workload management, quality control, risk analysis, pricing integrity, and department performance while serving as a trusted advisor to executive leadership. Assign bid opportunities based on workload, deadlines, technical expertise, and business priorities. Establish department goals, standards, KPIs, workflows, and quality-control procedures. Monitor bid volume, resource allocation, capacity planning, and team performance. Drive Winning Bid Strategies Lead Bid/No-Bid decisions. Review complex project opportunities, contracts, drawings, specifications, and bid packages. Develop pricing strategies that maximize competitiveness and profitability. Lead risk reviews, scope reviews, value engineering discussions, and executive estimate presentations. Ensure Quality & Accuracy Validate scope, takeoffs, labor assumptions, productivity rates, vendor pricing, subcontractor coverage, and contingency strategies. Implement review gates that ensure complete, accurate, and compliant submissions. Ensure final bid packages are delivered accurately and on time. Develop High-Performing Teams Mentor and coach Senior Estimators, Estimators, Junior Estimators, and Bid Coordinators. Conduct performance reviews, training initiatives, and career development planning. Support recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and succession planning efforts. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Improve Systems & Processes Own estimating SOPs, templates, historical databases, checklists, production rates, and quality standards. Drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and estimating best practices. Partner with Operations, Project Management, Engineering, Business Development, and Executive Leadership to improve estimate-to-project execution. What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications 7+ years of progressive experience in estimating, preconstruction, project management, engineering, telecommunications, utility, or construction environments. 2+ years of leadership experience supervising, mentoring, or managing technical personnel or estimators. Demonstrated success managing multiple large-scale bids and deadline-driven submissions. Strong understanding of construction methods, labor productivity, materials, subcontractor management, and project execution. Experience reviewing plans, specifications, scope documents, contracts, and procurement requirements. Strong business and financial acumen. Preferred Qualifications Experience leading estimating teams in: Telecommunications Fiber Optics Utility Construction Broadband Infrastructure OSP/ISP Projects Civil Construction Technology Infrastructure Experience with federal, state, municipal, healthcare, education, or utility contracts. Bachelor's Degree in: Construction Management Engineering Telecommunications Business Administration Related Field Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
