Traveling Superintendent II•This role is not Remote. This role requires travel to a specific project site in either DE, PA, or MD•We are a fifth generation, family led construction firm with more than a century of experience building projects that truly matter to the communities we serve. Position OverviewThe Superintendent II is a senior field leadership role responsible for directing daily operations on construction sites to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the specified quality standards. This role partners closely with Project Managers, subcontractors and owners to coordinate trades, manage site logistics, enforce safety and quality programs, resolve field issues and drive continuous improvement across multiple commercial projects.

Key ResponsibilitiesLead and supervise all on-site construction activities, ensuring work is performed to contract documents, schedule and quality standards.

Coordinate and manage subcontractors, vendors and on-site personnel; enforce contractual scope and performance expectations.

Develop, maintain and execute detailed construction schedules and daily work plans to meet project milestones and handover dates.

Implement and enforce site safety programs, conduct regular safety audits, and ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety policies.

Perform quality control inspections, ensure corrective actions are completed, and maintain documentation of inspections and tests.

Manage site logistics and materials coordination to minimize downtime and protect project schedules and budgets.

Identify, document and communicate potential schedule impacts, change orders and cost implications to the Project Manager in a timely manner.

Maintain accurate project documentation including daily reports, site diaries, RFIs, submittals, punch lists and as-built records.

Lead project meetings with the construction team, subcontractors and clients, and provide clear, timely status updates to stakeholders.

Support commissioning, closeout and turnover activities, ensuring punch lists are closed and warranty documentation is provided.

Mentor and develop junior superintendents and field staff to build a high-performing construction team.

QualificationsMinimum 5 years of education, healthcare, commercial, and/or public market construction superintendent experience managing multi-trade projects; experience with projects in the $5M+ range preferred.

Strong knowledge of construction methods, building codes, means and methods, and construction sequencing.

Demonstrated experience with schedule management and scheduling tools (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar).Proven track record enforcing safety standards; OSHA 30 certification preferred and first aid/CPR training desirable.

Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and contract documents.

Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coordinate diverse teams and maintain client relationships.
