The Opportunity:
Join a fast-growing, entrepreneurial commercial construction company specializing in hotel renovations and brand conversions nationwide. This opportunity offers the chance to lead complex projects in occupied hotel environments while working with major hospitality brands and building strong relationships with ownership, hotel management, and brand representatives. As a Traveling Superintendent, you will take ownership of field operations, quality, safety, and schedule while growing your career with a dynamic construction organization.
Responsibilities:
Manage daily field operations for assigned hotel renovation projects nationwide. Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel. Maintain project schedules and ensure milestones are achieved on time. Lead daily site meetings and communicate project progress, risks, and priorities. Enforce OSHA safety requirements and company safety policies. Perform quality control inspections to ensure work meets plans, specifications, and brand standards. Review drawings, specifications, RFIs, and submittals while resolving field issues promptly. Coordinate inspections, deliveries, punch list completion, project closeout, and owner turnover activities. Build positive relationships with hotel management to minimize disruption to guests and active operations. Prepare accurate daily reports covering manpower, progress, photos, weather, delays, and safety observations.
Must-Have Skills:
At least 2 years of experience as a Superintendent in commercial/Hotels construction. Experience with construction sequencing, scheduling, and managing multiple subcontractors. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, RFIs, and submittals. Strong knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and job-site safety practices. Excellent leadership, communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced construction environment. Willingness to travel extensively throughout the United States, up to 100%. Valid driver's license and ability to travel by air and automobile. Ability to walk construction sites, climb ladders and stairs, lift up to 50 pounds, and work in varying weather conditions. Successful completion of a required background check.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
Hospitality renovation experience, particularly in occupied hotels. Experience working with major hotel brands and brand-specific standards. Proficiency with Procore project management software. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Experience coordinating owner training, warranty documentation, final inspections, and project turnover. Strong understanding of minimizing disruption to hotel guests and ongoing operations.
