Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineering Project Manager specializing in Land Development to join our dynamic team. This pivotal role involves overseeing comprehensive land development projects from conception through completion, ensuring adherence to technical specifications, regulatory requirements, and project timelines. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in civil infrastructure design, construction management, and project coordination, enabling the delivery of innovative and sustainable land development solutions. Your leadership will drive project success while maintaining excellent client communication and fostering collaborative teamwork. Responsibilities Lead and manage land development projects, including site planning, grading, drainage, stormwater management, and utility design. Coordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, and internal teams to facilitate permitting phases and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Develop detailed project schedules using project management tools; monitor progress and adjust plans to meet deadlines. Prepare technical engineering reports, design schematics, and construction documents utilizing AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, MicroStation, and other CAD software. Oversee construction management activities including site inspections, quality assurance, safety protocols, and progress reporting. Utilize hydrological modeling tools such as HEC-HMS or SWMM for stormwater system design and hydrologic analysis. Manage project budgets through accurate construction estimating; collaborate with team members on resource allocation. Conduct geotechnical assessments and integrate geotechnical engineering principles into design solutions. Facilitate client communication by providing regular project updates, technical guidance, and addressing concerns proactively. Support the permitting process by preparing necessary documentation and ensuring all requirements are met efficiently. Experience Proven experience managing land development projects with a focus on civil infrastructure including stormwater systems, water treatment facilities, wastewater systems, and pipeline design. Extensive knowledge of construction management practices coupled with hands-on construction inspection experience. Proficiency in technical engineering report generation and drafting using CAD software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D or MicroStation. Familiarity with GIS applications like ArcGIS or MapInfo for spatial analysis and site planning. Strong understanding of hydrologic analysis tools including HEC-RAS or HEC-HMS; experience with hydrological modeling is preferred. Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams effectively while managing multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent skills in technical writing for reports, schematics, permits, and project documentation. Background in civil engineering principles with additional knowledge in geotechnical engineering, water treatment systems, or mechanical engineering is advantageous. Prior involvement in the permitting phase of land development projects is highly desirable.
