Job Description

A well-established commercial construction company is seeking an a Lead Assistant Superintendent to join the field team on a major 250+ unit multifamily construction project in the Myrtle Beach area . This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated construction professional who wants to continue developing their career with a respected general contractor and gain valuable experience on a large-scale multifamily project. Position Overview The Assistant Superintendent will work closely with the Lead Superintendent and Project Management team to help oversee day-to-day field operations. This individual will play an important role in coordinating subcontractors, monitoring quality and safety, maintaining the project schedule, and ensuring work is completed according to plans and specifications. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, comfortable working in a fast-paced jobsite environment, and eager to take on increasing responsibility. Responsibilities Assist the Superintendent with daily jobsite supervision and coordination. Help manage and coordinate subcontractors and trade partners. Monitor project progress and assist with maintaining the construction schedule. Ensure work is completed in accordance with project plans, specifications, and quality standards. Conduct regular jobsite walks and identify potential issues before they impact the schedule. Assist with daily planning and coordination of upcoming work activities. Help enforce jobsite safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment. Coordinate deliveries, materials, equipment, and site logistics. Participate in subcontractor meetings and assist with communication between the field and project management teams. Assist with inspections and ensure work is ready for required quality and municipal inspections. Help manage punch list activities and project closeout. Maintain daily reports, photographs, and other project documentation. Develop strong working relationships with subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and project team members. Qualifications Construction management degree preferred, but equivalent field experience will be considered. Experience working in commercial or multifamily construction is strongly preferred. Previous experience as an Assistant Superintendent, Foreman, Field Engineer, or similar field-based construction role is a plus. Understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and sequencing. Ability to coordinate multiple subcontractors and activities simultaneously. Strong organizational and communication skills. A proactive, team-oriented approach to problem-solving. Commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and jobsite safety. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced construction environment. Experience with construction management software and technology is a plus. Why This Opportunity?
