Job Description
Job Summary A growing commercial construction organization is seeking an experienced Retail Construction Superintendent to oversee retail and commercial construction projects from pre-construction through completion. This is a full-time, on-site direct hire opportunity based in Myrtle Beach, SC or Charlotte, NC. This role is ideal for a hands-on field leader who enjoys managing fast-paced construction environments, coordinating subcontractors, driving schedules, and ensuring quality work in the field. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily field operations for retail construction projects, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to project plans.
- Manage subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel to keep projects on schedule and aligned with budget expectations.
- Coordinate with project managers, architects, engineers, inspectors, and clients throughout the construction process.
- Monitor workmanship, site safety, code compliance, project milestones, and overall construction quality.
- Lead jobsite meetings, coordinate inspections, resolve field issues, and address potential schedule delays.

- Oversee retail construction projects from pre-construction through completion.
- Manage subcontractors, vendors, schedules, inspections, and day-to-day field operations.
- Coordinate project communication between field teams, project managers, architects, engineers, and clients.
- Maintain safety, quality, documentation, and schedule control across active jobsites.
- 5+ years of commercial construction experience.
- Previous experience as a Construction Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, or similar field leadership role.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, jobsite operations, scheduling, and subcontractor management.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, specifications, and project documents.
- Strong knowledge of jobsite safety practices, building codes, inspections, and quality standards.
- Excellent communication, organization, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced retail or commercial construction environment.
- Willingness to travel locally as required. Preferred Qualifications
- Retail construction experience or experience with fast-paced commercial construction projects.
- Proficiency with construction project management or scheduling software.
- Experience managing high-profile retail, tenant improvement, ground-up, or remodel projects.
- Strong track record of delivering projects safely, on time, and to a high standard of quality.
