Job Description

Job Description The Construction Manager is responsible for the management and completion of the construction of new homes and remodeling existing homes for Habitat for Humanity of Greater Sioux Falls. This includes organizing each build project, specifying materials, hiring sub-contractors and overseeing their work, training and supervising site-supervisors and completing houses according to the schedule. This person will report to the Executive Director and will work in a team atmosphere of mutual respect and cooperation with all staff and volunteers. Responsibilities Develop home construction designs and budgets Implement and maintain construction schedule from beginning to end of construction; secure all necessary permits Schedule and oversee the work of all sub-contractors Maintain at least a 3-week detailed progress schedule that is sent out weekly to Habitat Greater Sioux Falls team members and subcontractors Supervise two construction site supervisors and set weekly plans for jobsite locations and tasks Manage the jobsite: Arrange for hands-on supervision at each construction site Coordinate scheduling of volunteers and future homeowners with Habitat staff Implement and enforce safety procedures at each site Staff the work sites as appropriate Work onsite with site-supervisors and groups when needed to keep jobsites moving Coordinate the delivery of materials, tools, and other supplies to job sites Work with Homeowner Services Coordinator to ensure realistic expectations can be set for future homeowners and any issues that arise in the homeownership process are quickly resolved Assist in providing partner family education class on new home construction Resolve any punch list and/or warranty items that arise after construction Oversee the Construction Advisory Committee including preparing materials for monthly meetings and recruiting members Represent the affiliate in the community where and when appropriate Treat Habitat partner families and volunteers with respect and dignity Qualifications At least 10 years of residential construction experience Outstanding organizational skills Experience in supervising diverse groups Physical ability to climb a ladder up to 25 feet and lift 50 pounds Work will require standing, bending, kneeling, and reaching in awkward and tiring positions Ability to be in and perform job functions in various weather conditions including heat and cold Have a valid driver's license Currently hold a Builder Contractor License for the City of Sioux Falls or be able to obtain one within 60 days of hire At least a 2-year construction management or similar degree is preferred Experience working with Insulated Concrete Forms This is a full-time, salaried, exempt position that will require Saturday availability.
Salary range:
