Extensive travel required About the Opportunity We are hiring a Traveling Site Supervisor for industrial construction projects throughout the region. This role is ideal for someone who has built their career in the trades and is ready to take on more leadership, coordination, and jobsite ownership. This is a hands-on field leadership position. The Site Supervisor will serve as the main point of contact on the jobsite, helping keep projects moving safely, efficiently, and according to schedule. This person will work closely with project managers, subcontractors, customers, vendors, and internal teams to make sure work is organized, communication is clear, and issues are handled quickly. Candidates should be comfortable with a travel-heavy schedule. When a project is not close to home, the typical schedule is around two weeks on the road , followed by time home every other weekend. Some projects may require additional time on-site during important phases such as plant shutdowns, startup, commissioning, or urgent project needs. What You'll Do Oversee day-to-day activity on industrial construction jobsites Keep subcontractors, materials, equipment, and schedules organized Serve as the on-site contact for project updates, questions, and field issues Help keep work moving safely, accurately, and on schedule Review drawings, project plans, specifications, and jobsite requirements Track daily progress, site conditions, schedule updates, and open items Coordinate weekly jobsite meetings with subcontractors and project teams Help identify delays, safety concerns, material issues, or scope questions early Work with project managers on documentation, change orders, RFIs, and closeout items Support a strong safety culture and help ensure jobsite rules are followed Build positive working relationships with subcontractors, customers, and internal team members Assist with project punch lists and final completion items What We're Looking For Experience in industrial construction, commercial construction, or a related field A strong background in at least one hands-on trade, such as: Welding Piping or pipe fitting Electrical Concrete Millwright work Structural or mechanical work Ability to understand construction drawings, layouts, specifications, and field instructions Strong communication skills and the ability to work with multiple groups on a jobsite Ability to stay organized, document daily activity, and follow up on open items Comfortable making decisions, solving problems, and keeping projects moving Safety-minded approach to jobsite work OSHA 30 is preferred Experience with Microsoft Office is helpful Bluebeam or construction document software experience is a plus Equipment experience with forklifts, skid loaders, or man lifts is a plus Must be able to lift 40+ lbs. and perform physical jobsite duties as needed Must be willing to travel extensively Must be able to pass applicable background check requirements Compensation and Travel Details Salary range: $85,000-$100,000 per year Lodging, transportation, and approved business expenses are covered while traveling for work No per diem is offered Travel details can be discussed further during the initial phone interview Sioux Falls, SD area candidates are preferred, but qualified traveling construction professionals are encouraged to apply Growth Opportunity This is a strong opportunity for someone who wants to grow from field leadership into a broader project management role.
