Tectonic is a PREMIERDesign and Construction company that delivers what it promises. Tectonic stands for high quality services and business practices Tectonic provides: Architecturally led, owner-oriented Design/Build. Tectonic Management Group, Inc., has a great new part-time position as a Construction Project Site Assistant. The project is located on the West Star Aviation campus at the Chattanooga Regional Airport in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The project consists of a 40,000SF Aircraft Maintenance Hangar with attached 15,600SF shop/office and a two-story addition totaling 33,334SF. This role will assist the project site superintendent in coordinating and managing subcontractor activities in a safe and efficient manner. This position will be a great opportunity to see and participate in many aspects of site and new building construction. The project is underway and is scheduled for completion in late February 2027.

Skills & Roles & Responsibilities:
Candidate Skills:
Great communication skills. Basic print reading skills helpful. Ability to read and take field measurements. Good computer skills focused on Procore, Outlook, Teams, and Microsoft Office and Excel. Ability to handle a task with minimal supervision. Interest in construction management and being a part of a dynamic team focused on the design and construction of business aviation facilities.
Position Roles:
Assist with schedule maintenance and lookahead scheduling. Assist with daily report completion and weekly subcontractor meeting preparation. Able to help with general site labor and clean up when needed. Help with monitoring quality assurance. Help spot check site and building progress items against plans, specifications and contracts. Help with escorting unbadged vendors.
Position Responsibilities:
Participate in and help to foster a team-oriented environment onsite. Schedule communication with superintendent for the upcoming week. Good dependability and flexibility with schedule. Help to maintain a clean, organized and safe jobsite. This position will require an airport badge. The airport will conduct a background check - candidate must not have any background which would not allow them to pass the airport screening.
General:
Part time position between 20 and 30 hours per week as scheduled with site superintendent. Future full time position with benefits a possibility. Position starts September 8th after the Labor Day weekend. Project completion February 2027. Some Saturday work may be needed during project duration.
