Job Description
The Monitor position is a key position within the residential recovery court program for modeling, observing, managing, redirecting, and encouraging positive moments in behaviors, and attitudes. This behavior must also be demonstrated by the monitor who is a lead example for the residents. Such behavioral and attitudinal progress within the context of the residential recovery court resident is established on valuing and understanding the dignity and worth of each person, open to understanding life events leading to significant consequences, and the resource tools to assist in behavioral changes leading to life transformation and the fulfilment of the resident's potential.
Current Openings are:
2nd Shift (2:00 pm to 10:00 pm) During Shifts the resident monitor will At the beginning of each shift the resident monitor will read the logbook and within the first 15 min of each shift to determine if any issues or incidents have arisen from the last shift. Implement and enforce facility rules and policies to maintain order during shift. Accurately account for each resident whereabouts by conducting counts and documenting results. Always maintain keys and radios Periodically inspect perimeter to ensure facility is secure. Make entries in logbook during and at the end of assigned shift. Attend meeting and all necessary training. List all concerns in monitor logbook to include rules violations. Any serious violations must be reported to the Monitor Coordinator. Ensure resident adhere to schedule and lights out rules. Administer medications at scheduled times in strict accordance with medicine control policy and nurses' directions. Ensure residents coming from work, family visits or appointments are safe and compliant with facility policy for not bringing contraband into the facility. De-escalate potential volatile situations between residents when necessary. All shifts must be covered, if a Resident monitor cannot cover his or her shift as scheduled, they must notify the monitor coordinator at least 24 hours in advance or as soon as possible. A resident monitor shall not change his or her shift. Without prior approval of the monitor coordinator or Facility Director Obtain approval from monitor coordinator before leaving the facility if the resident monitor becomes sick or ill. Resident monitors are responsible for reading all policies and attending all training. Resident monitors are required to adhere to all confidentiality policies. Resident monitor must not leave post until properly relieved. In the event of an emergency or any situation that may arise that requires a supervisor, resident monitor must contact the Monitor Coordinator and or the Facility Director. Resident monitors must sign the daily time keeping logbook upon arrival at work and at the end of your shift. Assist residents in obtaining any approved items. Monitor may carry their own personal cell phone but use needs to be very minimal. Use needs to be in the monitor office. Cell coverage is limited at the site. Notating resident records with changes in health status or behavior Escorting or transporting residents inside the facility or to appointments off campus Intervening when residents become dangerous to themselves or others. Communicating with staff, residents as needed.Potential Candidates Must Have:
