Job Description

Overview The mission of Jubilee Park & Community Center (Jubilee) is to be a catalyst for community revitalization and enrichment in the Southeast Dallas/Fair Park neighborhood. The agency provides free multi-generational services to families living in the 62-block neighborhood of Jubilee Park and surrounding areas, a part of Dallas, which has long been under-resourced. Founded in 1997, Jubilee has grown into a campus, which includes a community center, resource center, Head Start facility, Early Head Start facility, senior housing complex, a Clinic, and a 3-acre park. Jubilee has also worked closely with residents to identify five key pillars that form our work and reflect the community's greatest challenges and opportunities. Those pillars are Education, Opportunity, Housing & Workforce, Health, and Safety. The OST Jubilee Assistant Site Coordinator is a part-time (20 hours per week) position part of Jubilee's Out of School Time (OST) team. The Jubilee Assistant Site Coordinator is responsible for assisting in maintaining a safe, engaging, enriching environment conducive to learning for Kindergarten
  • 5th grade students in Jubilee's afterschool and summer camp programs. This position requires excellent relationship building and collaboration skills, superb organizational skills and attention to detail, the ability to juggle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously, and a commitment to the mission and culture of Jubilee Park. The regular work schedule for this role is Monday
  • Friday, 2:15
  • 6:15 pm.
This position reports to the Director of OST Programs. The Assistant Site Coordinator helps manage the daily coordination and oversight of the OST program at their assigned school site. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, upkeep of the attendance database system, monitoring program flow and structure, classroom supervision when needed, and maintaining check-ins with teachers while programing is in session.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain a clear and consistent line of communication with program staff, school administration, and parents. Assist in the management of student check-in and sign-out process at assigned site. Assist in the development of schedules that incorporate student interests, required curricula and timeframes, and ensure their successful implementation. Ensure OST teaching staff are developing high quality programming by guiding and reviewing enrichment lesson plans for content and effective planning. Monitor student behavior on site during program hours and utilize appropriate discipline measures, as necessary. Create supply lists for lesson plan activities and source materials (online) and submit purchase requests. Assist with collection and review of OST teaching staff timesheets for assigned site. Visit classrooms to monitor performance of OST teachers and provide suggestions, demonstrations, and assistance for improvement, as needed. Work in collaboration with Specialized Student Support (S3) Program Manager to ensure students with additional learning needs are referred to S3 and receive additional support in the classroom. In coordination with the Site Coordinator and the Director of OST Programs, implement Afterschool Quality Advancement Tool (AQuA) at assigned site. Participate in professional development and training activities and staff meetings. Other duties as assigned by Director of OST Programs.
Qualifications Education:
Associates degree, or 2 years of experience working in an out of school time program setting (afterschool, summer camp, etc.). Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with school district staff, public officials, private sector officials, parents, and community leaders. Bilingual in English and Spanish, preferred. Experience working with diverse populations and ability to communicate effectively and demonstrate sensitivity to others. Excellent organizational and coordination skills. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). Conduct oneself in a professional manner/demeanor.
