Job Description

Director of Modular Home Set & Logistics Operations Location:
DeKalb, Texas — Relocation Required Full-Time | Long-Term Career Position SaddleBrooke is looking for an experienced construction leader to take responsibility for our entire modular home delivery, logistics, and onsite set operation. This is not an entry-level management position. We are looking for someone who has already led people in the construction industry, understands what it takes to get difficult jobs completed, and is comfortable being responsible for the schedule, the crews, the equipment, the jobsite, and the final result. We are a growing company, and we need a leader who wants to grow with us for the long term. What You Will Run You will oversee the operation from the time a completed modular home is ready to leave our facility until it is successfully set and secured on the customer's site.
That includes:
Managing our modular home set crews Managing onsite construction crews and subcontractors Coordinating home deliveries and transportation Scheduling cranes, equipment, trucks, and manpower Planning upcoming sets and making sure jobsites are ready Coordinating with project management, production, transportation, and customers Making sure crews have the tools, materials, equipment, and information needed before arriving onsite Managing multiple jobs and schedules at the same time Solving problems in the field without waiting for someone else to solve them Holding crews accountable for quality, safety, productivity, and professionalism Inspecting completed work and making sure the job is finished correctly Building better systems as our operation continues to grow Hiring, developing, and leading a strong field team You will have real responsibility. We are not looking for someone who simply sends schedules and makes phone calls. We need someone who can lead from the front, organize people, make decisions, and get work completed. Who We Are Looking For You need real construction leadership experience. We are interested in people who have backgrounds such as: Construction Superintendent General Superintendent Project Manager Construction Manager Field Operations Manager Production Manager Installation Manager General Contractor Commercial or residential construction leadership Modular, manufactured, industrialized, or offsite construction You do not necessarily need modular home experience. You do need to understand construction, people, scheduling, accountability, and field operations. What We Expect You must be willing to relocate to the DeKalb, Texas area. You must be looking for a long-term career , not a temporary stop until something else comes along. You must be comfortable working long hours when the job requires it. There will be overtime. There will be early mornings. There will be days when a set does not go according to plan and you are responsible for getting it back on track. Construction does not always operate from 8:00 to 5:00, and neither does this position. At the same time, we are not looking for someone who believes working more hours automatically makes them a better manager. We want someone who builds systems, develops people, plans ahead, and makes the entire operation more efficient as we grow.
You Will Do Well Here If You:
Take ownership instead of making excuses Can lead experienced construction workers Communicate clearly and directly Stay calm when things go wrong Plan several steps ahead Hold people accountable Understand construction schedules Know how to manage multiple moving pieces Are highly organized Respect safety and quality Are willing to make hard decisions Know when to ask for help Want responsibility Want to build something bigger than yourself
This Is Probably Not For You If:
You are looking for a 40-hour-a-week management job with predictable days. You want to manage from behind a desk. You have never directly led construction crews. You avoid difficult conversations. You need someone above you constantly telling you what to do next. You are looking for a job for the next year or two before moving on. We are looking for someone who wants to plant roots, become part of the company, and help build this department for years to come. The Opportunity SaddleBrooke is growing. That means this position is not about maintaining a department exactly the way it operates today. We want someone who can make it better. Better scheduling. Better communication. Better crews. Better preparation. Better equipment utilization. Better jobsite execution. Better systems. As the company grows, the person who successfully leads this operation should grow with it. We want someone who looks at that responsibility as an opportunity rather than a burden. Compensation Competitive compensation based on your experience and proven ability to lead. Benefits include health insurance, paid time off, sick leave, and additional company benefits. Relocation candidates are encouraged to apply. If you are currently leading construction teams somewhere else and believe you are capable of running a growing field operation, we want to talk to you. This is a career position for a construction leader who wants responsibility, opportunity, and a company they can grow with for the long term.
