Full job description Job Summary We are seeking a highly motivated, organized, and people-oriented Assistant Director to join our team. This is a fast-paced, high-responsibility role that is critical to the day-to-day success of the learning center. The Assistant Director works closely with the Center Director and Managing Director to oversee daily operations, manage a dynamic student schedule, and serve as a key point of contact for both parents and students. This role requires someone who is equally comfortable in a professional, parent-facing environment and working directly with students and instructional staff. Success in this position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple moving parts at once, and a genuine ability to build relationships with families, students, and teachers. Key Responsibilities Academic Evaluations Administer initial academic evaluations to identify student strengths and skill gaps. Parent & Student Engagement Lead intake meetings and interim conferences with parents and students, clearly communicating progress, goals, and next steps. Student Onboarding Ensure new students are smoothly integrated into their individualized programs. Schedule Management (Critical Function) Manage and maintain a highly dynamic schedule of 80 active students using Google Sheets and internal systems. Maintain strong working knowledge of student schedules, availability, and instructor assignments to ensure smooth daily operations. Operational Management Support daily center operations including student flow, staffing adjustments, and real-time problem solving in a fast-paced environment. Instructor Support & Team Coordination Build and maintain strong relationships with teachers. Provide ongoing support, communication, and coordination to ensure instructional quality and consistency. Customer Service Serve as a primary point of contact for parentshandling questions, concerns, and scheduling needs with professionalism and urgency. Program Oversight Assist in reviewing student programs, tracking progress, and monitoring attendance to ensure student success. Teaching (As Needed) Provide direct instruction when necessary, using best practices to actively engage students. Community Engagement Build relationships with local schools and the surrounding community to support center growth. Administrative Responsibilities Manage daily administrative tasks including phones, emails, scheduling, file maintenance, and basic financial processes. Center Maintenance Assist with maintaining a clean, organized, and professional center environment, including closing duties.
