Job Title:
Sr Construction Project Manager Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Project Manager to oversee and manage construction projects from pre-construction through completion. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership capabilities to manage budgets, negotiate contracts, and ensure project profitability while maintaining client relationships. Responsibilities Manage the pre-construction, preplanning, and construction project scheduling process. Review and approve project budgets for labor, material, and subcontractors to allocate resources effectively. Negotiate and create subcontractor contracts with external vendors for project agreements. Oversee project finances including profitability and cash flow management. Ensure overall job profitability and manage cost to complete against the initial bid proposal. Collaborate with engineers and architects to resolve design conflicts for all trades. Lead strategic planning, project submittals, request for information, and change order processes. Implement monthly cost reports and accurate cost projections. Research and suggest options for construction means, methods, and timelines. Recognize and implement change orders as needed. Approve supplier and subcontractor invoices. Ensure adherence to health and safety standards and report issues. Maintain and develop client relationships and identify upcoming work opportunities. Manage CAD, fabrication, and field labor resources. Enforce procedures, rules, and regulations to maintain a safe and clean working environment. Direct responsibility for subcontractors and indirect responsibility for subcontractor field personnel and internal support services. Supervise Project Engineers (PEs) and Assistant Project Managers (APMs). Essential Skills Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Consistent dependability and availability. Ability to work in a fast-paced construction office environment. Proficiency in organizing and curating documents related to work orders and personnel. Aptitude for learning new systems. Excellent skills in Microsoft Projects, Office, Excel, Word, etc. Experience with AutoBid, P6 Scheduler, and Bluebeam preferred. Mechanical knowledge. Project management expertise. Ability to train estimating staff on technical aspects of project management. Understanding of company resource production capabilities and implementation in the construction process. Ability to professionally solicit vendors and suppliers during procurement. Capability to prepare a SWOT Analysis for projects and future projects. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; or 10+ years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 5 years of experience in the construction field leading projects up to $15 million in scope. Mechanical Construction, MEP, Mission Critical, Data Center, Commercial expertise. Work Environment This position is onsite in Austin, Texas. The work environment is dynamic and fast-paced, requiring the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Dress code and attire will align with safety standards and regulations typical of a construction site. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Georgetown, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $65.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
