Senior Construction Manager - Electrical Overhead Distribution Company Overview D&J Power is a Texas-based company specializing in new powerline construction, as well as the maintenance and repair of both overhead and underground distribution systems. The company serves municipalities, electric membership cooperatives, and investor-owned utility providers, offering comprehensive powerline distribution and construction services. Position Overview We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Senior Construction Manager - Electrical Overhead Distribution to lead and oversee overhead distribution construction projects from planning through completion. This leadership role is responsible for managing field operations, subcontractors, schedules, budgets, safety compliance, and client relationships while ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. This role will help bring the cost discipline, reporting accuracy, and financial visibility needed to keep complex, high-profile projects on track. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in electrical utility construction, overhead distribution systems, project management, and field leadership. This position requires exceptional communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to manage multiple projects and teams in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Project Leadership & Execution Manage multiple overhead distribution construction projects from inception to closeout Lead all field construction activities, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and within budget Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and resource plans Coordinate labor, equipment, subcontractors, and materials to meet project milestones Ensure project documentation, contracts, permits, and compliance requirements are maintained accurately Field Operations & Construction Oversight Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, quality, productivity, and safety performance Provide leadership and support to General Foremen and Foremen to resolve design, constructability, and field issues Review and interpret blueprints, schematics, specifications, and construction drawings Document and manage daily field changes, redlines, and as-built drawings Coordinate closely with engineering teams, customers, and utility representatives to resolve project concerns Client & Team Coordination Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams Attend customer construction, safety, and quality meetings as the company representative Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients and project stakeholders Mentor, coach, and support project staff and field leadership teams Safety & Quality Assurance Enforce company safety standards and OSHA compliance across all job sites Ensure all work is performed in accordance with quality standards, utility specifications, and company procedures Submit safety reports, quality documentation, and daily progress reports accurately and on time Identify and mitigate project risks while implementing corrective actions when needed Financial & Administrative Management Prepare and manage project estimates, budgets, change orders, invoices, and procurement activities Track project costs and ensure financial performance targets are achieved Oversee material procurement and equipment allocation using construction management software Prepare detailed project status reports for senior leadership Qualifications 7+ years of experience in electrical utility, high voltage or overhead distribution construction management Strong background in overhead powerline construction and utility infrastructure projects Proven experience managing multiple construction projects simultaneously Expert knowledge of construction processes, utility standards, safety regulations, and OSHA requirements Strong understanding of blueprint reading, schematics, and construction documentation Experience with project scheduling and project management software Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and organizational skills Ability to lead field teams and build strong customer relationships Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent industry experience considered PMP certification or utility industry certifications are a plus Valid driver's license required Preferred Experience Electrical overhead distribution systems Utility powerline construction Distribution rebuilds and upgrades Pole replacement and reconductoring projects Storm restoration operations Union and non-union workforce management Utility client coordination and compliance Pay, Benefits & Growth Compensation Weekly pay via direct deposit Competitive salary based on experience, certifications, and qualifications Performance-based advancement opportunities Benefits Company truck Fuel card Medical, dental, and vision insurance beginning the 1st of the month after 30 days of hire 401(k) with company match Life insurance Short- and long-term disability options Paid vacation and holidays Professional development assistance Training & Career Development Ongoing technical and leadership development Career advancement opportunities with a promote-from-within culture Exposure to large-scale utility infrastructure projects
