Location:
Fort Worth, TX (or DFW Metro Area preferred; on-site at project locations with regular travel throughout Texas and potentially beyond)
Job Type:
Full-time (Contract position with potential for permanent conversion)
Job Summary:
Allied Construction Group, Inc., a certified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to join the team. The successful candidate will be employed directly by Allied and assigned to lead construction projects for various commercial general contractors. This is a travel-intensive field leadership role in which the individual will manage projects of varying scope and complexity across multiple job sites. Candidates are ideally based in or near the Fort Worth/DFW area, though the position requires regular travel to project locations. Travel may involve being away from home Monday through Friday (up to one full week at a time), depending on project requirements. Lodging, gas/mileage reimbursement, and a per diem allowance will be provided for any project location exceeding 50 miles from the candidate's primary residence. The role requires strong on-site leadership, expertise in coordinating multiple trades and subcontractors, and a comprehensive understanding of the full construction process—from pre-construction through project closeout. Responsibilities Oversee daily on-site construction activities, supervise field personnel, and coordinate multiple disciplines of subcontractors to ensure strict adherence to project plans, specifications, schedules, and quality standards. Manage and direct subcontractors across common construction trades (e.g., concrete, framing, MEP, finishes, sitework), demonstrating general knowledge and competence in trade scopes without requiring specialized licensing. Interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical documents to direct field operations and proactively resolve issues. Utilize MS Project or similar software for scheduling, progress tracking, documentation, and reporting. Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, enforce safety protocols, maintain quality control, and identify/resolve conflicts or delays. Coordinate material deliveries, suppliers, and partners to maintain project momentum, including management of travel logistics and temporary site setups. Ensure full compliance with contracts, building codes, regulations, OSHA safety standards, and company policies throughout the project lifecycle. Maintain effective communication and professional relationships with clients, general contractors, subcontractors, and internal teams, including clear reporting during travel periods. Qualifications & Requirements Proven experience as a Construction Superintendent, Project Manager, or similar role in commercial construction, with demonstrated success managing multiple subcontractor disciplines and trades. Strong general knowledge of the complete construction process across all stages (pre-construction, construction, and closeout). Familiarity with common construction trades (e.g., structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, finishes) sufficient to oversee work effectively and demonstrate competence. Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, specifications, and construction documents. Excellent leadership, team supervision, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills. Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities for collaborating with diverse stakeholders, including during extended travel periods. Proficiency with MS Project or equivalent scheduling software preferred. Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and willingness/ability to travel regularly (including week-long Monday-Friday assignments away from home). Ability to be based in or near Fort Worth, TX (or DFW metro area) preferred; must be able to commute or relocate as needed for project assignments. What We Offer Competitive salary based on experience, plus performance-based bonuses. Health, dental, and vision insurance. Paid time off and holidays.
