Trusted Construction is seeking an experienced and highly dependable Construction Superintendent to lead daily field operations on commercial ground-up projects ranging from $3 million to $10 million , including retail, industrial, and office buildings. This position requires a seasoned construction professional with extensive ground-up experience, strong sitework knowledge, and a proven ability to manage projects from initial site development through final completion. The right candidate understands how each phase affects the next, owns the schedule, holds subcontractors accountable, and delivers a high-quality finished product. Key Responsibilities Ground-Up Construction & Sitework Lead commercial ground-up construction projects from site mobilization through final turnover. Manage and coordinate every phase of construction, including: Clearing, grading, excavation, and fill Building pads and soil stabilization Underground utilities, storm drainage, water, and sewer Concrete and asphalt paving Foundations and structure Building envelope Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems Interior finishes and closeout Understand elevations, grading plans, utility plans, civil drawings, and construction sequencing. Coordinate surveyors, testing agencies, civil contractors, utility providers, and inspectors. Identify site conflicts early and develop solutions before they affect schedule or cost. Ensure each phase is ready for the next, from civil and sitework operations through vertical construction and closeout. Job Site Management Manage all daily construction activities on assigned projects. Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and field personnel. Ensure work is performed according to plans, specifications, schedules, and project requirements. Maintain clean, organized, professional, and safe job sites. Conduct routine inspections to monitor progress, workmanship, manpower, and site conditions. Take ownership of project execution and drive field issues to resolution. Scheduling & Coordination Develop and manage detailed daily, weekly, and look-ahead schedules. Coordinate subcontractors, inspections, materials, deliveries, and equipment. Work closely with Project Managers to maintain milestones and overall project schedules. Identify potential schedule impacts before they become delays. Develop and implement recovery plans when necessary. Maintain proper trade sequencing throughout all phases of construction. Quality Control Ensure workmanship meets Trusted Construction standards and project requirements. Review completed work for quality, accuracy, and compliance with construction documents. Identify deficiencies and ensure corrective actions are completed promptly. Maintain high standards of craftsmanship and job site professionalism. Verify work is complete and ready before scheduling inspections or releasing following trades. Safety & Compliance Enforce OSHA requirements and Trusted Construction safety policies. Conduct job site safety meetings and regular safety inspections. Ensure subcontractors and field personnel comply with all required safety procedures. Maintain compliance with building codes, permits, inspections, and jurisdictional requirements. Promote a culture of Faith First. Safety Always. Communication & Reporting Provide consistent project updates to Project Managers and company leadership. Communicate professionally with subcontractors, inspectors, engineers, architects, suppliers, owners, and clients. Maintain accurate daily reports, progress photos, schedules, inspection records, and project documentation. Clearly communicate manpower needs, delays, field conflicts, and critical project issues. Participate in project meetings and help drive accountability throughout the project team. Required Qualifications Proven record of taking commercial ground-up projects in the $3 million-$10 million range from site mobilization through Certificate of Occupancy . Experience with retail, industrial, or office buildings is strongly preferred. Minimum 8 years of experience as a Construction Superintendent . Strong background and demonstrated expertise in sitework and civil construction. Thorough understanding of earthwork, grading, underground utilities, drainage, paving, concrete, and site development. Strong understanding of commercial construction methods, sequencing, materials, and building systems. Proven ability to manage multiple subcontractors and field crews. Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, civil, MEP, and construction plans. Ability to understand grading plans, elevations, utility layouts, and civil details. Working knowledge of OSHA safety requirements and applicable building codes. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus. Out-of-town travel may be required depending on project location. Some evening or weekend work may be necessary based on project schedules, shutdowns, or critical milestones. Compensation & Benefits $110,000-$140,000 annual salary , based on experience, qualifications, and project history. Per diem provided in addition to salary for approved out-of-town projects.
