Commercial Construction Estimator/ Project Manager Location:
Texarkana, Texas Schedule:
Flexible
  • 7:00am-4:00pm or 8:00am-5:00pm
Work Environment:
70% office / 30% field Our client, a reputable commercial construction company in business for over 30 years , is seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Estimator/ Project Manager to join their team. This role requires hands-on commercial estimating experience and a strong understanding of construction costs, bid preparation, and project coordination. This position plays a critical role in the preconstruction and budgeting process and works closely with leadership, project managers, and job site superintendents to ensure accuracy from estimate through execution. Key Responsibilities Perform detailed quantity take-offs from blueprints and construction documents Analyze architectural and engineering drawings, specifications, and addenda Develop comprehensive cost estimates including labor, materials, equipment, subcontractor pricing, overhead, and profit Solicit, review, and level subcontractor and vendor bids Prepare and submit competitive bid proposals and budgets Identify value engineering and cost-saving opportunities Conduct site visits to verify existing conditions and project scope Track estimating revisions, RFIs, and scope changes Document assumptions, clarifications, and exclusions clearly Collaborate closely with project managers and job site superintendents during preconstruction and project handoff Required Qualifications Strong experience with take-offs, bid analysis, and scope review Working knowledge of commercial construction methods and materials Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Strong blueprint and plan-reading skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong grammar High school diploma or equivalent Reliable personal vehicle (gas and mileage reimbursed) Professional appearance and demeanor for job site visits Preferred Qualifications Experience with PlanSwift or similar estimating software Project management experience Drafting or design background Additional Information Flexible daily schedule options Weekly local travel only — no overnight stays Gas and $300 a month truck allowance provided Vacation schedule: 6 months
