In this pivotal role, the Project Accounting Manager is responsible for project accounting activities and works with project management and project accountants to ensure accurate and timely reporting of project results. Your expertise will drive accurate financial reporting, effective cash management, and seamless coordination across project teams. Duties Assure that Percent of Completion accounting is being executed and recorded per US GAAP and that processes are in place for the business to understand and follow the requirements. Support the business in achieving the financial targets per project, including leveraging and managing risks and opportunities with the Project Managers Manage and Maintain project backlog and sub ledgers and monitor variances on jobs Works with project managers and accounting to ensure costs are posting to the jobs correctly Monthly close processing including review and approve journal entries, accruals, and analysis Prepare monthly financial reporting package for review by Senior Management and Project Managers Monthly balance sheet reconciliations review (contract assets, contract liabilities, etc.) Prepare and distribute monthly project performance cost reports to management Monthly prepare job close out analysis for project managers Run, Analyze and Validate profit recognition for percentage of completion jobs Maintain and analyze backlog schedule monthly, including conversion estimates and variances Assures that all monthly closing activity related to Projects are booked in a timely basis Annual labor absorption rate analysis Keeps up to-date on corporate policy and any changes in current ERP or other systems. Supports in monthly and year-end closing including year-end audits. Develops a close working relationship with Project Managers to support performance metrics, and Corporate Accounting Handles special projects as requested by management Helps with preparation of the yearly audit Helps maintain the internal control environment Assists with safeguarding the assets
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business 5-7 years hands on accounting experience in Project Accounting ERP Systems experience a plus Ideally come from a project, construction or POC background Demonstrates good interpersonal skills along with excellent verbal/written communication skills Ability to accurately communicate complex concepts to non-Finance/Accounting coworkers and upper management Knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures of POC accounting Knowledge of general ledger account structure Ability to review, approve and reconcile assigned general ledger accounts Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel Exhibits strong computer skills and knowledge of relevant technology
Pay:
$95,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
