Job Description

Subject:
Project Manager - Commercial Construction | Lehi, UT About Design-Build Contractors Design-Build Contractors, Inc. is a Lehi-based commercial construction company that operates as a true partner to our clients — collaborating from initial concept through final delivery across a diverse portfolio of commercial, industrial, office, retail, tenant improvement, and multi-family projects throughout the Wasatch Front. Our clients describe us with words like trust, integrity, reliable, and customer-first — and we bring that same culture to how we treat our team. We're a lean, high-performing group: 6 experienced superintendents, 3 office staff, and 2 PM/owners who work alongside the team every day. There's no corporate bureaucracy here — just talented people doing excellent work together, with direct access to ownership and the autonomy to make real decisions.

//design-build.contractors/ Responsibilities The Role We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to take on a high-impact leadership role managing 4-6 active commercial projects ranging from $1M-$5M each, spanning commercial TI, ground-up, office, retail, and industrial work. You'll directly oversee and mentor our field superintendents while owning schedules, budgets, RFIs, submittals, client relationships, and quality assurance. This is not a paper-pushing role. You'll be in the field, solving problems, building relationships, and leading a team that takes pride in delivering exceptional results. Key Responsibilities Manage 4-6 active commercial projects simultaneously as the primary point of accountability Oversee, support, and mentor field project superintendents Handle schedules, budgets, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project close-out Lead client communication and maintain strong, long-term relationships Ensure quality, safety compliance, and profitable project delivery Qualifications Who We're Looking For Ideal candidates typically come from one of these proven backgrounds: Experienced Project Superintendent with 5-7+ years in commercial construction ready to step into full project management, or Project Manager / Assistant Project Manager with 5+ years of commercial construction PM experience Requirements 5+ years progressive experience in commercial construction project management or supervision Strong plan reading skills and thorough understanding of project specifications Proven ability to communicate effectively with architects, engineers, and design professionals Solid understanding of construction processes with ability to train and mentor junior superintendents Strong skills in scheduling, budgeting, RFIs, submittals, and client management Proficiency with Sage CM or similar construction management software Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills Valid driver's license and ability to visit job sites regularly Additional Information One More Thing We've been around long enough to have a reputation worth protecting, and we're picky about who we bring onto the team because of it. If you're someone who shows up, does what you say you're going to do, and takes pride in the work, you'll fit in here. If you're looking for a place to coast, this isn't it. To Apply Send your resume to ken@design-build.biz and include a short description of a project you're proud of — not a long essay, just a paragraph. Tell us what the project was and what made it a win.
