Job Title:
Construction Superintendent Job Description The Construction Superintendent leads ground-up construction, remodels, and capital improvement projects for restaurant facilities, serving as the primary on-site representative and point of accountability. This owner-side field leadership role oversees day-to-day job-site execution to ensure work is performed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with company standards. The position is ideal for an experienced Superintendent or Field Construction Manager who wants to move into an owner-side role, gain broader exposure across projects, and build a long-term career while remaining closely connected to the field. Responsibilities Lead day-to-day on-site execution of restaurant construction, remodel, and capital improvement projects from start to finish. Act as the primary on-site representative, ensuring all work aligns with company standards, project specifications, and quality expectations. Oversee and coordinate all job-site activities, including scheduling, sequencing, and monitoring of trades and subcontractors. Ensure all work is performed safely, promoting and enforcing a strong safety culture on the job site. Review, interpret, and work from blueprints, construction drawings, specifications, and engineering documents to guide field execution. Monitor progress against project plans and timelines, proactively addressing issues that could impact schedule or quality. Verify that construction work meets design intent, building codes, and applicable regulations. Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, field teams, and external partners to keep projects on track. Troubleshoot field challenges and provide hands-on leadership to maintain momentum and resolve conflicts. Maintain a clean, organized, and professional job site that reflects company standards. Document job-site activities as required, including progress updates and issue tracking. Essential Skills At least 5 years of experience as a Construction Superintendent within commercial construction in a general contractor or owner's representative environment. Direct experience managing retail or restaurant construction projects or facilities maintenance work. Proven ability to run job sites independently with full accountability for on-site execution. Strong ability to read blueprints and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and engineering documents. Hands-on leadership style with a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency in the field. Solid understanding of commercial construction practices, sequencing, and coordination of trades. Effective communication skills for coordinating with field teams and stakeholders. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in restaurant construction environments, including remodels and capital improvement projects. as a Superintendent or Field Construction Manager seeking an owner-side leadership role. Demonstrated ability to work within a lean team structure with high personal accountability. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions in the field. Ability to maintain professionalism while working in active restaurant or retail environments. Work Environment This is a field-based role with 100% of the time spent on site at restaurant construction, remodel, and capital improvement projects. The Construction Superintendent works in active construction environments, coordinating trades and overseeing daily activities in and around restaurant facilities. The position operates within a lean, owner-side team structure, requiring a high level of independence, hands-on involvement, and direct interaction with field personnel and project stakeholders. Work conditions may include exposure to typical construction site elements such as noise, dust, and varying weather, depending on project location and stage Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Fairfax, VA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $140000.00/yr.
