Job Description
The Construction Site Manager is responsible for overseeing the construction portion of solar projects. The Construction Manager establishes the work schedule, manages subcontractors, assigns the proper crews and trades to a project, ensures that proper tools and materials are available, reviews designs with engineering, and ensures the project is built according to design.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Align individual and team objectives to department and company objectives Manage and support employee development and growth Provide regular and direct feedback on performance and goal progress Set up initial layout and site infrastructure services (water, power, internet, office trailers, and required facilities) Schedule and ensure appropriate staffing for daily construction activities with employees and subcontractors Support the PM and APM for required management coverage Create and implement daily work plans Ensure construction disciplines coordinate daily functions to minimize schedule delays Identify potential employee relations issues Identify potential schedule changes, workflow, and staffing issues Shut down a construction site when conditions warrant (e.g., weather or safety) Perform site investigations for potential construction sites Recommend and evaluate subcontractors for project use Monitor construction sites daily to oversee work in progress Act as the primary on-site leader managing execution teams, including subcontractors Evaluate contractual scope of work and impacts of client-issued bulletins, field directives, and scheduling changes Develop and maintain long-term relationships with customers, consultants, prime contractors, and subcontractors Attend job safety, plan-of-the-day, quality, security, and progress meetings as required Ensure project document controls comply with contract requirements Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Advanced knowledge in: Communication (including listening skills) Relationship building Adaptability Decision making Construction knowledge Civil and electrical knowledge Safety practices Managing in a stressful environment Intermediate knowledge in: Fundamentals of contract requirements Change orders Scheduling concepts and exceptions Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) Additional knowledge: Environmental concepts (BMPs and SWPPP) Interpreting state rules and regulations Supervisory Responsibilities Oversee production across multiple job sites Ensure safety of employees, vendors, subcontractors, and temporary labor Coordinate schedules with construction, engineering, and purchasing departments Education and/or Work Experience Requirements High school diploma 10+ years of direct construction management experience (utility or heavy construction) OSHA 10 and/or 30 certification preferred Valid driver's license required Ability to travel up to 95% Solar project management experience preferred Physical Requirements / Work Environment Work is performed in both office and field environments. Must be able to sit, stand, bend, twist, and lift up to 20 pounds.
