Hourly Position:
$35.00/hour
Qualifications:
The Afterschool Site Director for an Afterschool Child Care Program shall meet or exceed the following qualifications: be at least eighteen years of age, possess a BA, BS or Associate's degree, and have one of the following: at least ten months direct work experience with school age children or Vermont On-The-Job Training certificate or Vermont Afterschool Professional Credential or Vermont Program Director Credential or Vermont Teacher Licensure Master's Degree in a youth-related field
Responsibilities:
Run the day to day operations at the site including being the point person at the site for staff and parents and is available on-site at least 50% of the time the program is in operation. Establishes a positive, supportive relationship by actively participating in the program. Maintains staff schedule and organizes substitutes as needed. Maintains daily attendance. Provides general and supervisor oversight of afterschool program staff. Collaborates with teachers to maintain strong connections between programming and the school's curricula. Ensures cooperation exists with school personnel such as custodians, transportation, kitchen staff, nurse, for continuity of day to day flow. Work directly with the food service director on menu planning for snacks. Addresses concerns from parents and staff. Ensures safety of all students and staff. Follows and enforces policies, rules and regulations. Reports suspected child abuse and neglect; Maintains confidentiality. Informs Afterschool Program Administrator and School Principal of concerns in a timely manner for effective problem solving.
