Position Description:
The Preconstruction Manager leads and owns the preconstruction process from selective sales support through project turnover. The role supports pursuits as needed, providing high-level input on constructability, scope, and risk, while being responsible for detailed scoping, scheduling, and procurement planning occur post-award. After award, the Preconstruction Manager is accountable for defining scope, sequencing, budget and risk clarity, and technical alignment on all projects to ensure project teams and the field are positioned for successful execution.

Responsibilities :
Lead, manage and hold accountable of all the procurement of all materials, equipment, commodities, tools and fleet Own early project scoping and schedule development Assist sales and own the construction strategic procurement efforts Ensure team and owner alignment for equipment, materials and design intent Ensure technical clarity for field execution
Competencies:
Experience in selecting, evaluating and purchasing HVAC and plumbing equipment and commodities Core understanding of mechanical and plumbing design Skilled in reading construction drawings, specifications, installation manuals and submittals Strong negotiating and influencing skills Financial literacy and budget awareness Problem-solving and decision-making under pressure Experience evaluating vendor performance, maintaining relationships, and managing supplier risks Understanding of contract terms, change orders, and commercial risk mitigation Skills in planning procurement activities aligned with project schedules, purchase order management, and coordinating deliveries Engineering or installation background preferred

This is an office-based position. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Travel to construction projects is required on an as needed basis for project meetings and quality/warranty support Ability to hear and verbally communicate effectively and stand or walk for extended periods of time The employee regularly works outside and is occasionally exposed to cold, wet and or humid conditions Wear the

safety boots that cover at least the ankle, clean denim or appropriate work pants without tears or rips, VHV logo preferably on the work shirt or jacket (depending on weather), safety glasses, gloves, and your hand tool bag

$100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
