OVERVIEW
Communities In Schools of Lakewood is a strong team focused on our mission of surrounding students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and succeed in life. We are seeking a leader able to build powerful relationships with youth, families, school staff and community partners; able to case manage 45 students (for full-time); supervise site-team of interns and volunteers; and coordinate programs and services to students at schools in the Clover Park & Franklin Pierce School Districts in Pierce County, WA. What sets Communities In Schools apart is the way we coordinate a comprehensive range of services to support all the needs of our students-academic and non-academic-so they come to school and/or engage in online learning ready to learn! We specialize on social emotional learning and helping students (and their families) remove barriers to academic engagement and success.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Site Coordinator is responsible for the overall planning and implementing the Communities In Schools model of "integrated student supports", in strong collaboration with the Communities In Schools of Lakewood team, school staff and the community. This "school-based" position identifies and coordinates community resources, volunteers and partnerships to address the identified academic, social and emotional needs of youth (and their families) who face individual and systemic barriers to academic success through confidential, developmentally appropriate, culturally sensitive interventions, services, supports and case management. The Site Coordinator works closely with the administration, counseling, and Student Support Teams in their school. High School Site Coordinators can expect to be 1 of 2 Site Coordinators in the building. Actively partnering and cooperating to implement the Communities In Schools model together at their school site.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
School-based Services Coordinate implementation of the annual school support plan needs assessment, program implementation, data tracking, and evaluation/reporting. Lead school support plan strategies to deliver evidence-based, school-wide and targeted services for students identified as high risk of academic failure. Work closely with school administrators and staff to coordinate a team approach to addressing the social, emotional and resource needs of students (and their families) who face individual and systemic barriers to academic success. Communicate regularly and participate in interdisciplinary meetings with School District staff and community agencies concerning individual student and family needs, program planning, activities, goals, and progress. Provide and/or coordinate individual and group intervention for identified students, including a caseload referred by school staff of 35-45 students. Provide school-wide activities/programs and basic needs provision (food, school supplies etc.) during the school year, in collaboration with other partners. Promote cultural diversity and inclusion for ALL students and families, with emphasis on anti-racist and trauma-informed practices. Supervise day-to-day tasks of site team including interns, volunteers and mentors and partners with the CISL Community Engagement Manager to support volunteers working with case managed students at the school site. Evaluation and Documentation Lead the annual needs assessment process by gathering information and assess current student and school needs and emerging trends with the team to develop an annual school support plan with measurable objectives, strategies for delivering and monitoring services and evaluating and reporting effectiveness. Track and document supports/services provided, student information, progress data and outcomes in CIS database to evaluate effectiveness of support strategies. Produce CIS monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and present them to CISL, school staff and partners as necessary. Collaboration Coordinate partnerships with other agency service providers and community members (volunteers) to meet school and student needs. Contribute to identification and development of partnerships. Serve as a community resource to the school and families by sharing information and supporting school-wide activities such as orientation and family events. Maintain open communication with partners by facilitating regular site team meetings and providing quarterly reports to CISL team and building administrators. Represent the organization positively all times by acting as a professional ambassador in alignment with the organization's mission, Values, Beliefs and Commitments.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS A
belief that EVERY young person is able to be successful and demonstrated strong youth-engagement, asset-building and relationship-building skills, particularly with youth, and their families. Candidates with high school education and/or higher welcome to apply. Demonstrated experience working with youth, knowledge of and passion for youth development. This can be demonstrated through work experience, volunteer experience, and/or formalized education. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with schools, students, parents, community representatives and the public. Adapt, facilitate, and evaluate age-appropriate activities with and for the youth being served. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Confidence in initiating communication (via phone, email, video conferencing, in person and through writing plans and reports) with school staff, parents, families, students, partner organizations and community members. Flexibility, collaborative spirit. Ability to work cooperatively as a team member with the CISL team, and schoolteachers and staff.

Strong organizational skills. Ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously, including school-wide supports and individualized support for a caseload of 45+ students. Basic computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Suite of programs and video conferencing. Ability to lift 25lbs on an occasional basis. Valid Washington state driver's license, access to reliable transportation, and proof of adequate vehicle insurance coverage. Must pass a criminal background check. Desired Qualifications Bi-lingual, bi-cultural connection to Spanish-speaking community. Case management experience. Knowledge of local Pierce County, Lakewood, and Franklin Pierce School District area resources, community agencies and social service systems. AA degree with at least three years' experience working with teens or young adults, Bachelor's degree with one years' experience working with teens or young adults, or equivalent experience. Experience in education, social services, counseling, juvenile justice, or related field. Experience with education prevention, intervention and/or reengagement strategies. CPR/First Aid training
SCHEDULE
Site Coordinators are a non-exempt roles serving 40 hours/week (full-time) with the opportunity for adjusted hours during summer employment. Regular set schedule between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM with some flexibility to set hours dependent on school and student needs. Some evening and weekend work required.
WAGES AND BENEFITS
Pay range is $24.50 to $28.50/hour determined by related skills, experience and education. Benefits include 17-18 paid holidays annually, equivalent of 2 days/month PTO provided during first year of employment, and $30 monthly phone stipend. Full-time employees also receive health/vision/dental insurance coverages with 100% employer paid premiums, plus additional optional insurance.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Site Coordinator positions serves within a Clover Park School District or Franklin Pierce School District school site and is on the Communities In Schools of Lakewood Program Team. Site Coordinators work from their school site with some home visits, deliveries and external meetings in alignment with health and safety precautions.
