The Site Lead is responsible for creating a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment where students can connect, learn, and participate in after-school activities. This position oversees the day-to-day operation of an assigned program site, supports volunteers, maintains program records, and serves as a key point of communication between the Foundation, school staff, students, and families. Key Responsibilities Lead the day-to-day operation of an assigned after-school program site. Prepare the program space for student and volunteer arrival. Maintain and facilitate the daily schedule of snacks, activities, tutoring, and student engagement. Create a safe, inclusive, positive, and welcoming environment for all students. Provide appropriate supervision and support positive student behavior. Guide and support volunteers participating in program activities. Track student attendance and participation accurately. Maintain required program records and documentation. Communicate program needs, concerns, incidents, and updates to Foundation staff. Serve as a liaison between the program site, Edmonds School District staff, Foundation staff, students, and families. Respond to sensitive situations with empathy, professionalism, discretion, and good judgment. Assist with other program-related responsibilities as needed. What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is reliable, organized, approachable, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team. Strong candidates will be able to build positive relationships with students while maintaining appropriate expectations and structure. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience working with children or youth in an educational, after-school, camp, childcare, recreation, or similar setting preferred. Supervisory, team leadership, or program management experience preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate effectively and empathetically with students, families, school staff, volunteers, and community members from diverse backgrounds. Strong organizational, time-management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Dependable attendance and ability to meet deadlines and adapt to changing priorities. Ability to handle sensitive information and situations with discretion and confidentiality. Must be able to successfully pass a Washington State background check. Physical & Work Requirements This is an active, in-person position within a school and after-school environment. The Site Lead should be comfortable standing and walking for extended periods, participating in program activities, bending and moving as needed, and lifting items weighing up to 40 pounds. Local travel may occasionally be required. When driving on behalf of the Foundation, employees must maintain a valid Washington State driver's license, proof of insurance, and a clean driving record. Eligible mileage and travel expenses incurred using a personal vehicle are reimbursed. About the Program Whole Families, Whole Communities is a Foundation for Edmonds School District program developed in partnership with the Edmonds School District. The program provides after-school engagement and tutoring opportunities designed to support students and help them thrive academically and socially.
