Position Summary The Construction Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing all in-house construction projects at Core Fiber Partners, including both fiber optic and fixed wireless infrastructure deployments. This leadership role manages project execution from inception to completion, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency. The Construction Manager supervises the Construction Superintendent and field teams, manages budgets and schedules, and serves as the primary liaison between field operations, project stakeholders, and company leadership. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: Plan, organize, and manage all phases of construction projects, including scheduling, resource allocation, and budget management. Supervise and mentor the Construction Coordinator and field crews; provide guidance, training, and performance feedback. Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety protocols, company policies, and regulatory requirements. Review and approve construction drawings, blueprints, and engineering plans; ensure accurate as-built documentation. Oversee procurement and management of materials, equipment, and subcontractors. Monitor project progress, resolve issues, and implement corrective actions to keep projects on track. Coordinate with permitting authorities, utility companies, landlords, tower owners, and other stakeholders to resolve right-of-way, locates, access, zoning, and site readiness issues. Oversee fixed wireless construction activities, including tower, rooftop, and ground-based site builds; equipment installation; power and backhaul coordination; and integration with fiber transport networks. Coordinate site surveys, structural reviews, permitting, and construction readiness for fixed wireless deployments, ensuring compliance with landlord, municipal, and carrier requirements where applicable. Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality control, safety compliance, and adherence to project specifications. Prepare and present project status reports to company leadership and stakeholders. Manage project documentation, including contracts, change orders, daily logs, safety reports, closeout packages, and turnover documentation for both fiber and fixed wireless projects. Respond to emergencies, outages, or priority work as needed, including after-hours or weekend work. Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement within the construction team. Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) 7+ years of experience in construction management, telecommunications, or related field, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role. Strong knowledge of fiber optic, outside plant, and fixed wireless construction methods, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. Experience managing fixed wireless site construction activities such as tower or rooftop installations, equipment deployment, power coordination, and backhaul integration is preferred. Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines. Excellent leadership, team management, and conflict resolution skills. Strong organizational, time management, and communication abilities. Proficiency with project management tools, Microsoft Office Suite, and field documentation systems. Experience with budgeting, cost control, and resource management. Valid driver's license and clean driving record. High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's or Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field preferred).
Preferred Qualifications:
OSHA, FOA, or other relevant safety/construction certifications. Experience with heavy equipment operation and maintenance. CDL (Commercial Driver's License) is a plus. Experience managing subcontractors and vendor relationships. Experience with fixed wireless, macro tower, rooftop, or small cell construction projects. Advanced degree in construction management or related field Physical Demands and Work Environment The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Ability to walk, stand, climb, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs as needed. Frequent site visits, including rugged or uneven terrain, trenches, aerial poles, or underground vaults.
Exposure to construction hazards:
traffic, live wires, heavy equipment, excavations, etc. Use of appropriate PPE and adherence to all safety protocols is mandatory. Occasional after-hours, weekend, or on-call work may be required to address emergencies or priority projects. May require up to 25% out-of-town regional travel, including occasional overnight travel. Business mileage incurred through authorized use of a personal vehicle will be reimbursed in accordance with company policy. Possible use of company vehicles; CDL may be required for some vehicle operation.
