Job Description

On‑Site Project Manager - Commercial Construction Job Description We are seeking an experienced On‑Site Project Manager to lead the execution of medium‑sized commercial construction projects from start to finish. This role has full accountability for jobsite leadership, safety, quality, schedule, and overall financial performance. The ideal candidate brings strong field experience, proven leadership skills, and a solid understanding of self‑perform work, trade coordination, and union job sites. This position is well suited for a construction professional who thrives in a hands‑on, on‑site leadership role and values collaboration, accountability, and long‑term project success. Key Responsibilities Serve as the on‑site Project Manager responsible for project execution, completion, quality, and financial performance Provide daily jobsite leadership to ensure safe, efficient, and high‑quality construction operations Partner with corporate safety teams to develop, implement, and enforce the project safety plan Develop and manage project controls, procedures, and risk mitigation strategies Lead change management, tracking scope, schedule, and cost impacts Manage project financial forecasting, cost tracking, budgets, and reporting Create and oversee project‑specific quality plans and ensure compliance with contract documents Lead project closeout, including punch lists, documentation, and turnover requirements Direct and support project teams including superintendents, engineers, and project staff Train, mentor, and develop direct reports on company processes and jobsite operations Support subcontracting strategy by developing scopes of work and managing the buyout process Draft, review, and manage contracts, subcontracts, agreements, and purchase orders Coordinate insurance and bonding enrollment and ensure trade compliance Support preconstruction efforts, including estimating select packages and GMP development Perform constructability and coordination reviews throughout the project lifecycle Develop and manage CPM schedules and prepare monthly schedule updates Collaborate with business development teams to support client relationships and pursuits Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, trade partners, and industry contacts Oversee and support self‑perform work, including planning, estimating, and monitoring labor productivity Apply strong knowledge of labor production and union job site operations Foster a positive, inclusive, and accountable jobsite culture Required Qualifications 5-10 years of construction project management experience, or equivalent education/experience Bachelor's or Master's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred) Strong understanding of commercial construction project management and jobsite operations Proven ability to manage project financials, forecasting, budgets, and change management Experience developing and managing CPM schedules Demonstrated leadership ability to build and motivate high‑performing teams Strong communication, organization, and relationship‑building skills Ability to delegate, set priorities, and hold teams accountable Proficiency with construction management software and Microsoft Office Experience managing self‑perform scopes with a GC or subcontractor Strong understanding of labor productivity and union job sites Preferred Qualifications Experience managing medium‑sized commercial projects (retail, pharmaceutical, high‑rise, or similar) Background working with self‑performing general contractors Familiarity with GMP project delivery Experience with constructability reviews from preconstruction through closeout Established relationships with clients and trade partners Experience supporting business development or client presentations Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Milwaukee, WI.
