Job Description

Compensation:
Negotiable based on experience. Overview The Electrician, Inc. is seeking a Director of Service to lead our electrical service division in the Madison area. We are looking for someone who has managed a skilled-trades service operation, developed field leaders, and been accountable for customer response and financial results. Experience in electrical, HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, or a related service trade is welcome. An electrician's license is not required. Qualified electricians on our team lead technical electrical decisions. What you'll do
  • Lead and develop Service Managers, Service Estimators, Service Project Coordinators, and the Inside Sales Coordinator.
  • Own division performance, including revenue, gross margin, technician utilization, billing timeliness, and customer retention.
  • Set dispatch priorities with Service Managers and balance response commitments with available staffing.
  • Oversee quote and lead assignments for the Inside Sales Coordinator and Service Estimators.
  • Build customer relationships and resolve escalated service concerns.
  • Forecast staffing needs and coordinate resources with TEI's other divisions.
  • Maintain safety and workmanship standards through qualified electrical personnel.
  • Recommend hiring candidates, coach and evaluate staff, and develop future service leaders. What we're looking for
  • Proven experience managing field service operations in the skilled trades, with responsibility for team performance, customer response, and financial results.
  • Experience managing field teams and developing supervisors or managers.
  • A strong grasp of service financial measures such as utilization, labor rates, and margin.
  • Working knowledge of permitting and inspection processes.
  • A valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
Seven or more years of relevant experience, experience with service agreements, and familiarity with dispatch or ERP systems are preferred but not required. The Electrician, Inc. is an Equal Employment Opportunity / Affirmative Action Employer.
