Consertus is seeking a Construction Inspector to support Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) as part of LAWA's Quality Assurance & Construction Inspection Division across multiple projects within LAWA's Tenant Improvement Program , primarily focused on building disciplines within terminal environments. This position requires a strong understanding of construction inspection practices and the ability to interpret and enforce LA City Building Code and ADA requirements . The role is highly field-based in large terminal areas, requiring extensive walking and physical activity throughout each shift.Work Schedule:
Option 1: Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM•2:30PM Work Schedule:
Option 2: Sunday 10:30 PM•Friday 7:00 AM (overnight shift)Location:
Los Angeles, CA (LAWA) This is an Onsite position. Required Education/Training High School Diploma (or equivalent) Cal/OSHA 30-hour training (certificate required) Fall protection training (harness + lanyard) Confined space awareness certificationNFPA 70E
certification required for electrical inspectors (if assigned to electrical-related inspection scope)Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive daily construction inspections across building and terminal projects to ensure compliance with codes, plans, specifications, and project requirements. Review and interpret construction documents including blueprints/shop drawings , submittals, RFIs, and change orders. Prepare detailed daily inspection reports documenting the who/what/when/where/how of construction activities, including progress, issues, deficiencies, and safety concerns. Verify contractor compliance with local jurisdiction requirements , applicable building codes, and LAWA proprietary standards . Support special inspections and testing activities; coordinate with engineers, contractors, and third-party agencies as needed. Track and document time-and-material work , field changes, and job quantities (as assigned). Assist with verifying contractor progress payment requests based on approved schedule of values (as assigned). Typical building inspection scope may include (not limited to): Demolition and removal of building structures Excavation, trenching, shoring Grade/elevation survey verification Backfill/compaction for underground utilities Structural and non-structural concrete, formwork, footings, micro piles Sewer and storm drain inspection Metal stud framing, drywall, interior finishes Doors, hardware, and components Ceilings (T-bar, hard lids) and fire-rated components Minimum Qualifications Minimum 5 years of construction inspection experience (required). Demonstrated ability to understand and interpret LA City Building Code and ADA requirements . Proficiency with inspection/document control software and tools, such as: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) Adobe Pro, Bluebeam (preferred/desired) PM/document control systems (e.g., PM Web) (preferred/desired) Ability to efficiently review contract documents electronically with minimal supervision. Ability to write clear, concise documentation and inspection reports. Required Education/Training High School Diploma (or equivalent) Cal/OSHA 30-hour training (certificate required) Fall protection training (harness + lanyard) Confined space awareness certificationNFPA 70E
