Job Description:
D'Leon Consulting Engineers is seeking a Office Engineer in Los Angeles, CA We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Office Engineer with 2 to 5 years of experience in civil engineering projects, specifically in the rail transportation sector. The ideal candidate will support project execution by managing documentation, coordinating with field teams and consultants, tracking progress, and assisting with contract and construction administration tasks. Responsibilities Assist in the preparation, review, and processing of RFIs, submittals, change orders, and other project documentation. Maintain and update project records, logs, and electronic document management systems (e.g., PMIS). Coordinate with design, construction, and third-party stakeholders to ensure accurate documentation and timely communication. Support project scheduling and cost control efforts, including tracking quantities, budgets, and schedule updates. Review construction drawings and specifications to support field teams and ensure compliance with contract requirements. Draft correspondence, meeting minutes, and reports as directed by senior staff. Participate in contractor and client meetings, ensuring action items and follow-ups are clearly documented and tracked. Assist with field inspections, quality control, and progress documentation as needed. Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements, particularly related to FRA, FTA, and local agency guidelines. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. 2-5 years of experience in civil engineering, preferably on rail or transit infrastructure projects (commuter rail, light rail, subway, or intercity rail). Strong understanding of construction documentation processes and contract administration. Familiarity with rail-related infrastructure such as trackwork, structures, stations, and utility relocations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with project management systems like Primavera P6, Procore, eBuilder, or similar is a plus. Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills. Ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced team environment.
