Assistant SWPPP Inspector Dirt Works - 3.9 Lodi, CA Job Details Full-time From $25 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Health insurance Paid time off Qualifications Outdoor work experience American Concrete Institute (ACI) Standards High school diploma or GED Driver's License Attention to detail Full Job Description Dirt Works is hiring an Assistant SWPPP Inspector to support our SWPPP Manager with stormwater compliance inspections and reporting across active construction job sites. This role reports directly to the SWPPP Manager and plays a key part in helping the company stay compliant with stormwater regulations by identifying pollution risks, documenting site conditions, and recommending corrective action. It's a great fit for someone who enjoys hands-on fieldwork, learning the ins and outs of environmental compliance, and traveling to different job sites as part of the job. Responsibilities Assist the SWPPP Manager with stormwater (SWPPP) inspections across active job sites Identify potential sources of stormwater pollutants at construction sites Evaluate site maps and descriptions to ensure accuracy of information Identify drainage patterns on the worksite Measure approximate slopes after major grading activities Identify areas of soil disturbance Identify locations of major structural and non-structural controls, along with areas of expected stabilization activities Identify wetlands and surface waters present on the site Make recommendations for Best Management Practices (BMPs) Fill out inspection reports accurately and on time Communicate findings and updates to the SWPPP Manager in a timely manner Follow all company safety protocols and procedures Other duties as assigned Qualifications High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required Prior experience with SWPPP, stormwater compliance, or construction inspections a plus, but not required — will train Strong attention to detail for accurate report writing Good communication skills Reliable and responsible — able to work independently while traveling Work Demands and Environment Long field days, often 14+ hours, with travel that can extend into a couple of days away from home during the week Comfortable spending long hours riding in a vehicle Able to walk active construction/job sites in varying weather conditions The employee will be exposed to conditions including heat, cold, noise, vibration, fumes, dust, and rain What We Offer Competitive pay based on experience 25+ depending on experience Health insurance Paid time off (PTO) Opportunity to grow with a well-established Southern California construction and utility contractor
