Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Permit Technician for a direct hire opportunity in Mountain View, CA. This role supports the Building Inspection Division by processing permit applications, assisting customers, reviewing development application materials, calculating fees, and maintaining accurate inspection and permit records. The Permit Technician is an important customer-facing resource for contractors, architects, engineers, developers, and the public. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who understands building permit processes, enjoys solving problems, and thrives in a collaborative development services environment. Candidates can expect supportive leadership, meaningful community-facing work, and the opportunity to contribute to efficient building and construction review operations. Key Responsibilities
- Process building permit and miscellaneous permit applications while ensuring required approvals and documentation are complete.
- Perform basic counter plan review for application completeness and conformance with building codes, City requirements, policies, and procedures.
- Respond to questions from contractors, developers, engineers, architects, and members of the public regarding building codes, permit regulations, and development review requirements.
- Calculate project valuations, plan check fees, permit fees, and related charges, and collect or process fees as required.
- Prepare, coordinate, and maintain property, project, inspection, fire inspection, code enforcement, and building inspection records.
- Assist with inspection data gathering, reports, investigations, filing, indexing, and cross-reference record maintenance. Compensation and Benefits

$60,000 to $75,000 per year.Job Type:
