A Utility Locating Technician is responsible for accurately locating underground utilities in a variety of terrain, weather conditions, and residential, commercial, & industrial areas. Key Responsibilities:

Identify and map location and depth of utilities such as water, sewer, gas, cable, oil and electric lines, Document interactions, site information and utilities in organizational software. Communicate with clients, engineers and management, Ability to read utility maps and as-builts, Use a variety of techniques (electrical, magnetic, GPS, blueprint analysis, and/or radar) to accurately locate underground utilities, Prepare field notes and document site conditions as related to project requirements, Conduct preliminary research and put together field request packages, Work as part of team in covering field services which may include utility investigation, locating, inspections, land survey activities, traffic control and more.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent, 3+ years' experience in utility detection work, Prior experience with electromagnetic locating equipment (RD 8100) preferred, Prior experience with Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) preferred, Be physically able to lift up to 75 pounds, Be able to sit, stand and walk for extended periods, Ability to travel overnight and out of town, Ability to work on several concurrent projects, Excellent technical and communication skills.
