Job Description
Field Engineer - California High-Speed Rail (Wasco, CA) V3 Construction, Inc. is a licensed general engineering subcontractor working on public infrastructure across California. We are the cable trough and manhole subcontractor on California High-Speed Rail Construction Package 4 near Wasco, working under KSWH (Kiewit / Stacy and Witbeck / Herzog). Our scope includes precast cable trough, manholes, duct crossings, and transition structures. We are hiring a Field Engineer to support our crews in the field. What You'll Do Review drawings and specs and help crews understand what is being built. Check layout, line, and grade; coordinate with survey. Track quantities installed each day. Prepare work plans, inspection plans, and checklists; walk inspections with KSWH. Inspect material deliveries and document any damage or shortages. Write daily reports with photos and crew hours. Draft RFIs and submittals for the Project Manager; keep as-builts current. Flag changed conditions or extra work to the Project Manager the same day; track time-and-material work. Take part in daily safety huddles and stop work when something isn't right. Drive a company vehicle between work areas along the project alignment each day. What You'll Need Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent field experience. One or more years on heavy civil, underground utility, or rail construction. Entry-level candidates with relevant internship experience will be considered. Ability to read civil drawings and specs. Proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook. Valid driver's license. Driving between work areas along the alignment is a daily job function, and no alternative form of transportation is comparable in time or cost.
Preferred:
California public-works experience; OSHA 30; confined-space training; Bluebeam; ability to communicate with Spanish-speaking crews. Working Conditions Full-time on site in Wasco, CA. Outdoor work year-round. Monday-Friday with early starts; occasional extended hours. Essential functions include walking on uneven ground, working in and around excavations.Who We Are Our values:
