Job Description
Construction Inspector Volkert Inc. paid time off, 401(k) United States, Colorado, Fort Collins Aug 21, 2026 Are we the road to your future? We are currently searching for an experienced Construction Inspector to support our Colorado Front Range located in Denver, Fort Collins, and Colorado Springs, CO. To be considered for this position, applicants must have, at minimum, five years of heavy highway construction experience. What you'll be doing: Inspect construction activities on heavy highway construction projects
Report to project sites daily and be on-site throughout assigned projects, which may be located anywhere along the Colorado front range
Complete required forms and paperwork documenting construction activities each day
Report directly to the Project Engineer for each project as well as to the Volkert Project Manager What you need to have: Minimum of 5 years of heavy highway construction experience
Proficiency in reading and understanding construction plans and specifications, and familiarity with computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and internet/email usage
Ability to obtain (or hold) certifications including Traffic Control Supervisor, CDOT Highway Plan Reading, CDOT Construction Surveying, CDOT Basic Highway Math, ACI Concrete Transportation Construction Inspection, and Transportation Erosion Control Supervisor Training
Ability to be on your feet for long periods of time, flexible work hours, and willingness to temporarily relocate to project locations if necessary
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening to ensure a safe and productive work environment. Volkert adheres to federal guidelines, which may include testing for substances such as marijuana. Please note that federal regulations may differ from state-specific guidelines
Valid driver's license and a satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR) Bonus points if you have: Prior experience on Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) construction projects Why Volkert?
