1+ Month Position Overview We are seeking a Right-of-Way (ROW) Inspector to oversee and coordinate utility-related construction, maintenance, and inspection activities within public rights-of-way. The ideal candidate will have experience working with public and/or private utilities, knowledge of right-of-way regulations, construction plans, and strong field inspection capabilities. Basic Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum two (2) years of experience working with public and/or private utilities. Working knowledge of public-sector right-of-way regulations and construction plans. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Experience documenting project status and updates in a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), or the ability to quickly gain proficiency. Understanding of ROW regulations, construction material control, and job specifications. Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Must possess and maintain a valid Colorado Driver's License. Ability to safely operate a company vehicle as required for job responsibilities. Preferred Qualifications Associate's Degree in Civil Engineering Design, Construction Management, or a related field. Additional experience working with public and private utilities, including knowledge of right-of-way regulations and construction plans. Key Responsibilities Oversee and coordinate utility pre-construction, construction, maintenance, and related operations within public rights-of-way. Inspect and evaluate work in progress to ensure repairs, maintenance, and project activities comply with applicable city standards and specifications. Maintain and update right-of-way permit information, project status reports, and inspection notes within a CMMS. Schedule and participate in pre-construction meetings. Respond to utility emergencies and situations impacting public rights-of-way; assess conditions and coordinate appropriate responses. Monitor construction sites to ensure compliance with safe work practices, traffic control requirements, OSHA regulations, and established safety policies. Follow and enforce safety procedures, report unsafe conditions, and ensure the safe use of equipment and work environments. Maintain current knowledge of applicable policies, procedures, codes, standards, and regulations. Prepare and maintain forms, reports, correspondence, and other project-related documentation. Communicate effectively with management, employees, contractors, public agencies, and community stakeholders to coordinate activities and resolve issues. Assist in developing goals, objectives, policies, and procedures, and recommend process improvements where appropriate. Perform routine vehicle inspections, cleaning, and general equipment upkeep to ensure operational readiness. Complete additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
