A Construction or Building Inspector inspects new construction or renovated buildings to check for compliance with government safety codes and zoning requirements. Checks building structures and foundations, or provides inspections of electrical systems, plumbing or heating and cooling systems, or building elevators.
VN Engineers, Inc. is seeking a full-time Structural Construction Inspector for an Amtrak project located in the Old Saybrook Area.
Responsibilities will include:
Inspect work performed by construction contractors to ensure conformance with contract plans and specifications Contract administration Report daily progress and prepare daily work reports Track and document quality and quantities of work performed Report and document construction problems and challenges in the field Other oversight responsibilities as assigned Candidates must have at least three years of related experience (bridge structural experience preferred), along with a
NICET II
certification or Bachelor s degree in Engineering. Candidates must be reliable and have strong written and oral communication skills. There will be nightwork on this project. Candidate must be willing to work nights when needed. This is a full-time position with benefits.
