Duties:
The area of focus will be overseeing daily construction operations, ensuring contractor compliance with project plans, specifications, and contractual requirements. This role involves managing inspection staff, reviewing and delivering daily inspection reports, and monitoring contractor performance, schedule adherence, and overall responsiveness. The Chief Inspector will work closely with contractors to maintain project goals related to cost, schedule, and quality while also serving as a liaison to design staff to address RFIs, review shop drawings, and assess project changes for constructability. Additionally, the Chief Inspector will oversee the office staff responsible for record-keeping, correspondence, and reporting, as well as managing the contractor payment process, recommending adjustments as necessary. Ensuring overall site safety, permit compliance, and coordination with agencies and stakeholders is a key responsibility. Other oversight duties may be assigned as needed. Candidates shall have knowledge of construction means and methods, materials, strong communication skills, documentation control, ability to read and interpret plans and specifications and to perform quantity takeoffs/calculations.
Qualifications:
A NICET HCI
Level 4, PE, CCM, or EIT 5 years of general construction experience, to include 4 years' experience in Field Inspection and 2 years' experience in a Supervisory position is required Other certifications including NACE Coatings Inspection; ATSSA Traffic Control Supervisor;
NETTCP HMA
Inspector, NETTCP Concrete Inspector, NETTCP QA Tech, Soils and Concrete, ACI Technician and AWS/CWI are a plus. Candidates must be fully proficient in the use of computers including MS Word, Excel and construction reporting/quantity tracking software. Candidates must have effective written and oral communication skills, be eager to learn, willing to perform a variety of tasks and be a team player. Employees assigned to driving duties ("drivers") must have a current, valid US State driver's license and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with Keville's driving policy. OSHA 10 certification is a condition of employment. Daily on-site presence is required, with occasional evening or weekend work during critical project phases or to meet project deadlines.
